Yeah see this is why I'm at a lost why these performed shitty for me. Guys like you have been saying they performed well in the snow. I had about 360 pounds worth of weight in the bed and the thing would still let go in 2wd, why I would just throw it in 4wd any time there was any snow cover on the road. I messed with tire pressure a little bit which helped but just never had confidence in them

Ya, same here...but I thought that is normal-I had no added weight in the back. This is my first truck since my grandfathers 2wd dodge, which Im sure just had all seasons.

Ya that's the size i would run if i had 17" wheels, currently running a set of 16" Bronze TRD wheels and don't plan on getting a set of 17s yet but when I do I will be getting a ST Maxx in that 255 75 17!

my first truck was a 2wd ranger. Snow tires and 200 pounds in the bed and it went just about anywhere. i would never take it off road in the snow, but thing handled all the storms and such.

i have a spare set of 17 inch TRD Sport Rims if you want to swap :p
but that was my biggest delmia on the last truck was sticking to 16s, I knew right when I ordered them I should have gone 17 just for the other tire size options.
255/75R17 are Wrangler Rubicon size so worst case can always find some guy trying to sell the stock tires off and pick theup cheap. But its a true 32 inch tall tire and has that hair narrower width to help with highway mileage

hmm, no clue. Of all the 4WD's vehicles I've owned, none have been able to get started on a snow packed street packed in 2WD only. Maybe if you went extremely slow, but I just always threw it in 4WD. I've had Jeeps, Subarus (4WD not AWD) and they've all been about the same....

i would rate the tacoma as being the best of the worst I guess, with the traction control, auto lsd, etc I thought it did well in 2WD....although was a lot less fun since I couldnt get it to slide out :(. It would always correct itself and keep me going on my path. Cant do that in a 94 yj

When I slapped winter tires on it then it would start in 2wd no problem, only time i had it in 4wd was when we had a pretty sizeable ice storm.
if it was hard hard pack stuff and icey none of the ATs I ran would start in 2wd. But slush wise the Falkens are the only ones I had that struggled in that

Wow, that came stock with ~10.5? Well, to me that's a little wide, but thats just my preference. I wonder if you dropped the width if it would perform better for you in the snow. Anyway, sorry to hear you are having issues with them. Ill certainly be on the lookout for early wear now, thanks for the heads up.

no worries man, yeah the sports come with 265s, and I almost want to say the Offroads to...

I'm looking at dropping it down to a 255 width, probably help it some in the snow traction. Falkens always seem to have a few random fast wear tires pop up, buddy of mine had the older ATs and they were cooked pretty fast and had another guy with the MTs and those lost some chunks to, I think they get issues with the tire compound every now and then and its easy to get a bad batch. I hope these hold up for you though

IMG_0840.jpg IMG_0841.jpg Finally got wheels/tires on! I can't believe how quiet and smooth they are too. Barely notice difference from stock. I just hope they don't wear quickly like some have mentioned. Got the 285/75/17 with xd128 machete wheels. Cmc and trimming planned for tomorrow.

I'm currently shopping for wheels. I know if I kept stock I would not have rubbing with my 265/75/16 wildpeaks. I am looking at a 16x8.5 -6 offset set that would stick out about 2.25 further than stock. Wondering how much trouble with rubbing I would have. I don't mind ditching the flaps, but don't really wanna go cutting on things. Oh and I will have a small lift around 1.5" although I know that doesn't really matter.
