How much thread do you guys have showing on the collars? What are you getting as far as lift? Curious since I'm adding 285/70/17's and want to make sure I've got enough height before I button them up.

I got 285/75/16s on mine and when my kings came from the factory they were about 2.25" in height. That height was perfect for me with my tires, which is about 3-4 exposed threads if I remember right. I have LT now, so my coils are a little more cranked up than the OEM Kings were due to their different design. I wouldn't think you would need more than 8 exposed threads, but I could easily be wrong here...Did you measure out your center hub to bottom of fender for both the front and the rear?

Haven't installed them yet. Just thought it would be easier to setup on the bench prior to loading them onto the truck. I've got ext. travel. Some reading I've done say that you can jack them up to about 17 "turns" maximum from factory height (seems a little high for me). For sure I'll be measuring prior to putting them on, just looking to save some time/headache. I'm thinking starting with 8 threads and going from there. Hopefully not too hard to jack them up more or lower them more once they're on the truck.

Got ya. I never adjusted my OEM ones, but I used the punch along with my buddies Fox spanner wrench when adjusting mine on the truck. I later bought the "T-handle" that King sells that has a little more leverage. Now I just jack up my truck to where the tires are just off the ground, loosen the allen bolt and then crank them up or down as needed. Takes me like 3 minutes per side to adjust.

I was going to put them on and measure height (I have my starting height measurement) and spin them from there. I'll have 700lb springs without any front weight (only sliders) for now, so I'll have a lot less preload to hit the max lift of 3". Then if/when I get other armor, I'll spin them accordingly to keep the lift height since all cars are different and can have slightly different amounts of preload/threads showing per application.

Sounds good man, I got 600 pound springs on mine but you should be good. Will be curious to see how it works out, doesn't hurt to see in the mean time if you can locate a spare punch from someone local so when you do it you can have twice the force pulling on the collars.

I have a ton of spanner wrenches from my car coilovers over the years. I think at least one of them should be big enough for their collars. If not, I'll get the T-Handle haha

If that is the case, then I am sure you are more than good. Im sure you could just test fit the holes real quick and locate another spanner to work. Really though, it shouldn't be too much effort to get them if you got two wrenches...just the first rotation might be a bitch to get going.

I'll spray em down with some WD-40 or PB blaster. As long as they're lubed and wheels are off, they should be good.

If they are fresh and never have been installed, I would try spinning them first. Now if they have been on about 6 months then you could hit them up.

I've been researching king vs icons and same with my co worker. I've decided on kings 0-3" MT with TC UCA setup. Could I get a test drive with someone who has kings on their Tacoma? I'm in Socal. Laguna Niguel area.

I pulled the trigger on these because I couldn't stop drooling over them.

I'm currently on ProComp 3 inch coil lift and their ES Shocks. Feels like total crap.
Just wanted the lift since it was cheap. Anyways..

King 2.5 in the front. Non adjustable, with resis
    Total chaos Uca

    Rears are
Kings 2.0 with resi (needed the longer travel in rear, plus these came out cheaper and work out better with the relocation kit and dakars.
    OME Dakar full springs
    Shackle flip kit
    BAMF Shock relocation kit
All pro ubolt flip kit and Timbren bumpstops

I just ordered the parts and the kings should be there in a week, anything you guys feel like I'm missing or need to take before and after pics for the sake of this thread?

Make sure you take measurements before and after so you know how much lift you're getting. It'll help with the adjustments. I ended up showing about 7-8 threads above the collar to get 3" of lift.

I haven't thought about shock relocation, but Kings are on my agenda in the future. Are your rear coilovers custom-made for this application? And why 2.0 vs 2.5?

the shackle flip and shock relocation are giving me much more droop/travel. the 2.0 came in longer applications so I went with it. the 350-400 i was able to save instead of getting the 2.5 shocks. i got the shackle flip and reloc kit.

I do a lot of light trails, with light loads. so 2.0 to 2.5 wasnt a big factor for me.

plus theyre still both resi'd so didnt think it was a huge deal

the 2.5 up front i did with the 650 coil. going to do aluminum bumper and winch so weight was on the lighter side.
