Don't worry. It'll go up more now that they found out the new floating bridge is going to cost $250mil more than they already approved.

Supposedly republicans passed the bill that would force sound transit to calculate fees on the current worth of the vehicle as opposed to msrp, I hope something will be done before month end, that way I don't have to shell out 372 for wifes car

I went from Delaware where it's a flat rate of 25 dollars a year to Arizona where it's based off the % of the MSRP. Nothing like being charged 162 dollars PER YEAR to register a 11,000 dollar motorcycle.

From what I was told, they don't even go off of KBB, but use their own method to calculate value which makes yor vehicle worth more in their eyes.

Corolla is coming up for renewal in May. We'll see what the damage is then. Sales tax just went up on April 1st I think and it wasn't a joke. And property taxes are increasing for 2017 valuations. All of these are directly or indirectly related to the ST3 measure that was approved by voters last November.

ST3 isn't the only thing that that happened in that election that makes you go hmmmm......

Who are these people that wanted this?

You see why I don't want to live on that side of the state haha. Seriously though, I don't care how far I am from major cities if it means I can live in a county without mundane charges for services that don't affect me.

You're going to get screwed on taxes one way or another regardless of where you live. The vehicle registration in TX was $56, whether you registered a tiny trailer or a Rolls Royce. They raped you on property tax, though. I pay 1/4 of the property tax in CO that I did in TX, but I now get raped on vehicle registration. The new 4Runner will cost me about $1000 a year to register. Yay!

It's pretty cheap to live where I do right now on the East Side of WA. Low sales tax, no income tax, no vehicle emissions testing, flat fee of $50 for tab renewals, no requirement for motorcycle insurance, water, electricity, and garbage are minimal and in the case of garbage only billed tri-monthly. Just have to be willing to be far from stuff, I already don't like big groups of people and traffic makes me want start driving over people. Plus out here I don't have to look past buildings to see huge open Fields and mountains.
