I just lay on my back, on the floor board, using the ermatex ultra-disc-brake-caliper-lube in a plastic syringe (you can get them at pet stores) https://www.createforless.com/p-images/3/2009/0723/161720-3-1.jpg

...and then just push the gel like lube into the pivot points on the pedal assembly as shown in this TSB http://www.toyotapart.com/TSB-0186-12-Clutch-Pedal-Squeak-Noise.pdf ... I only do #1, #4, #5, then pump the pedal a few times to make sure is covers the area well. Works great

Has anyone had the TSB done since 2014 (when it seems to have been revised from the original 2012 release) with any success?

Recently the dealer said that I was eligible for the TSB, only to then say I was out of warranty (currently at 3yrs 8 months and 55000km) so they want to charge me 50% of the rate ($1000 CAD, so $500 charge to me) to do the TSB.

I am arguing it back saying at less than 3 years, and only 35000km I complained and they put grease on the parts that solved the problem and that they should have done the TSB then. I also have the extended warranty that covers the clutch master cylinder (which they plan to replace as part of the TSB). I'm not optimistic they will relent, and thus I'm trying to decide if it is worth proceeding.

$500 is shocking, but at least its 1/2 the regular price. The clutch isn't creaking too much ATM so I'm probably going to put it off and just keep greasing it if the noise returns.

A friend had the TSB done last year, but the sound returned and was also solved by grease application. So, seems that the TSB for free might not be the worst idea, but to pay $500 seems foolish.

    Thoughts?

Seems foolish. In my research, a lot of posters said that the tsb only fixed the problem temporarily.

I think reapplying grease as the problem reappears is the only "fix"

I had the TSB completed and the squeak came back. Never-Seize on the pedal to rod pivot made it go away. Just put a gob on a small acid brush and shove it up between the parts.

I can confirm I had the TSB done on my 2016 after 5k miles and it's back at 11k.

I may be some what foolish, but ended up getting the TSB done. They came down to 75% off. Clutch pedal feels much tighter now than before, so I guess it maybe needed an adjustment previously. But, new parts and hoping no issues.

It baffles me how they issue TSBs that don't fix the problem.

I've hit a couple key spots with white lithium grease (spray) and haven't heard the creak in years.

I use the white lithium grease every time the creaking starts back up.

Mine sounds like it's coming from inside the engine bay right behind the clutch pedal. Any thoughts?

Everyone kept saying TSB, TSB, but I had a squeaky pedal that was annoying the shit out of me. When it came time to upgrade my clutch, I cleaned off the shift fork and everything near it...the existing grease was dried up, and there were some spots that had no grease left on it at all. After cleaning, I used Mobil1 bearing grease, and have not had any pedal squeak in 7k mi so far. I didn't touch the pedal assembly at all. I saw a thread where you use a plastic straw up through the fork boot in the bottom of the trans to put grease on the ball/arm. Without dropping the trans that's prob the best way. If I find it, I'll edit my post.

I have a 2007 v6 6 spd. Bought it brand new and the clutch started being noisy at about 15 to 20K miles. Took it in and they replaced the pedal under warranty. I now have 91K and just keep using a combo of spray grease and silicone spray aimed at the spring with a smear of bearing grease on where the master cylinder rod meets the pedal. Seems to work for about a few months. Toyota knows about this shit and really should do something about it. This is bullshit.

I spray my pedal pivot about once a year with Dupont Snow and Ice Non-stick Clear Coating. It is made for snow blower chutes and shovels. That keeps it quiet for months at a time and I have 60k miles on it now. I have tried other spray lubes since 2013 and nothing has outlasted this stuff. My pedal really gets a workout with our traffic. It will usually start to squeak when it first gets hot in the early summer. I spray it and it's quiet for the rest of the year.

It looks like my assembly for the '16 is slightly different than yours. Has anyone had this issue with a 3rd Gen Tacoma? What areas did you libricate?

I'm almost positive all if not the majority of the squeaking is coming from the slave cylinder though
