There's been a lot of buzz about the new Alu-Cab stuff we're bringing in from South Africa, but not a lot of detailed info about it all. Thought we'd post up some photos and info about all of the new Alu-Cab gear we have available. Please let us know if you have any questions.

We recently had a 2016 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road in the shop for a complete Alu-Cab setup and some electrical work. We began by adding a REDARC SBI-12D Dual Sense Dual Battery system manager with two new Odyssey performance AGM batteries and a superb auxiliary battery tray from Off-Grid 4×4. We then ran power to an auxiliary fuse block in the bed, connected a solar charge controller for new Flexopower Atacama 79W flexible solar panels, and added in some Blue Sea high-output USB charging ports as well as dedicated power for a new 50-quart ARB fridge-freezer.

Installed with Blue Sea 100-amp breakers. The proper way to install a dual battery system.

Once all the wiring was installed and tested we moved on to the more fun stuff – a full Alu-Cab outfitting including:

    Alu-Cab Explorer Canopy with cupboards

Alu-Cab Gen 3 Expedition Rooftop Tent

    Alu-Cab Shadow 270 Awning

Brackets for mounting awning to tent.

Alu-Cab Aluminum Table with canopy mounts (coming soon to the store)

Alu-Cab Tilt-down Fridge Slide (coming soon to the store)

Before leaving the customer also picked up a Delorme inReach SE satellite communication device and powered RAM mount to keep in touch during a long trip down to South America this winter. Everything turned out great and we had a happy customer. We continue to be very impressed with the overall build quality and ruggedness of the new Alu-Cab gear and looking forward to a lot more Alu-Cab love at the shop.

I like the set up. Great use of space on the ceiling and cabinet for the windoors.

The Alu-Cab tents are about as rugged as you can get. Wind rated up to 60mph. Here is a picture of one with the same awning set up on an 80series.

The mounting mechanism for the awning, is it a rail system with moveable locknuts in the rail?
