I recently just picked up this 2003 Tacoma TRD 4x4 last month. I was in the used market for a long time and couldn't be more happy with what I ended up with. It has been an awesome truck so far. Bought it with 103k on the odometer. The first photos were taken on the beach in the Outer Banks of NC the first weekend after I got it. Since then I have tinted it, back to blacked all plastics, installed shorty antenna, LED license plate lights, D-Ring hitch. I love my Gen 1!

Thank you @Prayn4surf it took me a while to find one but they are still out there. Low miles was second to needing 4x4 and double cab for me though. It just kind of worked out that way with this particular truck and I jumped on it. If what I hear and have read about these motors is true they are just getting broken in at 200k!

I'm out here @Prayn4surf too on the east coast... just got back from Puerto Rico though :)

Thanks @STLTacoma @stumpman ! Yeah took my wife to PR she had never been there before. She was ready to move there. Flew into San Juan did a day or two there, got the rental car (2016 Yota Yaris), went to El Junque then shot across the island to Rincon. Spent 5 or so days there then headed back to San Juan for New Year's Eve. Was a great trip that's awesome you lived there @Prayn4surf !! I think I could get settled into that life for a while if I didn't have a job in the states... But yeah every time I've been there the waves are always like chest to head high sets, clean and fun in the mornings

Been loving my truck. Recent mods: Removed the mudflaps (which I kept in storage). Chopped the tailpipe at the bend which made it dump over the rear axle for a nice hidden look and increased rear clearance. I also sprayed the rear axle with semi-flat black to get it looking new again. Now I just have to come up with some more projects!

That's pretty clean for a 2003. I don't see a whole lot of rust. Great find!
