Hey guys so I'm a little lost as to where I should hook up the dark green wire for illumination.
    Any help is appreciated.

Any solid green wire behind a switch with illumination should work.

I need to get a smaller size t-tap.

    Thanks everyone!

I might be mistaken, but all I did was remove my old garage door opener overhead console, find the wire that was already in place and not being used, plug it into the temp/compass console, and put the screws back in.

That is all it takes if the wires are there. In the later models they replaced that with another sunglasses holder and took out the wiring.

Gotcha. Guess they did that with the switch over to the rearview mirror with compass/temp.

In 2014 they started putting regular mirrors in.

The pros have an auto dim with compass but no external temperature sensor.

Hey guys I'm running into some issues with my read out.

It seems like my temp readout won't update. If I turn on my after sitting all day it will work fine. However if I turn it off then get back in 10 minutes later it won't update, it'll be stuck on the same readout as before.

I test this with a hairdryer. It didn't register the temperature increase unless I disconnected the sensor and plugged it back in. It started going down to normal temperature but it doesn't seem to pick up an increase.
Any thoughts?? Or is this just how these operate? @nazlax10 @kgarrett11 @adio

The only things I could guess would be bad connection somewhere or possibly a bad sensor. I don't really know the ins and outs of the sensor to know what could really cause that. Sorry I can't be of more help man!

Out of the two guesses I had though I would lean towards bad sensor. The only reason I say that is because I'm not entirely sure that the sensor that comes with the 2015s is really a sensor or not. When I did mine I used a sensor from a 2011 Tacoma

I bought a separate sensor I didn't want to tap into the existing one.

I might have to see if I can get a different sensor installed.

Haha. Man that was an aliaba $20 special. It actually worked well for what it cost. The brand was Pyle but I can't remember the model number. It had everything from front and rear dash camera, to GPS, hell it even had a bra cup size chart. Not even kidding! It was pretty cool but I ended up upgrading to the factory GPS head unit and a much better dash cam.

    @Up2NoGood,

So I went to a junkyard today and came across an overhead display and got it thinking I can sell it to someone on here. Is there anyway to test at least that it'll light up before I try to sell it? I don't really want to take my truck apart because my luck something will go wrong and I'll have to fix it haha. I tried 12v to the light green and then ground to white with black stripe. Then I also tried dark green and white with black stripe. Nada.
I saw this but couldn't tell what wires they were.
Oh I also picked this up too for $5 haha

I was able to hook mine up to a 9v battery and get it to light up.

I was finally able to get it. I have a 12v power supply for testing but I had to connect the yellow with the green to show temp display. Without the display having something to show it doesn't do anything.

What is the earliest gen 2 this will work in? I have a base model 2007 with the sunglass holder. What is the earliest console that will work? Thanks Ricky
