If you go the single rail mount route with the 20 MOA, obviously do make sure you put the rail in the right direction slant down towards the barrel, I know one might think that would be obvious, but I have had to fix quite a few that were reversed and then people couldn't understand why they couldn't get more than 20 minutes of angle out of their scope

FYI in my photos the scope you see is only a soft mount, it just happened to be the way it was sitting on my table to put it on for the photos,When you mount your rings, do turn your rings around the other way as mine also are now. it's just makes them more aesthetically pleasing.

I like the adjustability of the one piece

you'll be fine with the one or two piece. Just make sure the mount screws on everything is loctited...you could get it lapped also, and make sure the crosshairs are perpendicular to your rifle.

Upon your other responses, obviously if you're going less than 500 yards, you don't necessarily need a 20MOA rail, but obviously in the end, it's your decision.

Since my scope doesn't even have mil dots or turrets, I am going to get the two piece cross slot from Leupold. I would need to upgrade my entire scope set up to shoot that realistically, so I am going the simple route now. And yes loctite is a sure thing. Thanks!

My scope won't support accurate, repeated fire at 500 right now, so I'm going the simple route. Thanks!

I got a set of those invisible rings at a gun show once, the scope kept falling off.

Went out to the range today! A couplefriends cane out to zero their new rifles, aRemington 700 in 308 at 200yds and a bolt action 5.56 (can't remember what model) top 200yds and I zeroed my marlin 795 and kel tec sub 2000 at 50yds.

I shot the 22 at 200yds and with a little Kentucky windage (aiming 4ft high) got it on target. It was a good day.

That will be a good shooter. Just have to have a good rangefinder for the longer distances...then just guesstimate the elevation out to 500 yds...since you dont have mildots or whatnot..
