Is this mounted in the Factory bumper? Did you double check polarity before installing the lights? The Fuse should NOT be blowing. Let me know how everything is hooked up and we will go from there. Thanks!

It's in a Pelfreybilt bumper but using factory connector with your adapter. They ran for a little while and then fuse blew. I'm going to mess with them more this afternoon

I almost wonder if there is some sort of short. It seems to me a pair of their fogs are built to be handled with a 12 amp wiring harness. I would assume at 15 amps you are way more than good. Is there a short somewhere or where some exposed cable might be from your existing wiring harness? If you replace the fuse, does it blow just after turning on?

This has come up a few times in the past where the light housing is grounding to the Pelfrey bumper. Can you try unplugging one light to see which one is blowing the fuse? There are a few ways to resolve this if that is the problem.

    1. Cut ground wire off wiring adapter. If the light is grounding to the bumper, the adapter will still work.
    or
    2. Isolate the light from the bumper using rubber isolators. This will prevent the light from grounding itself to the metal bumper

So, with the car not running but ignition turned on they run, just like yesterday. Now with car running they are still on with no blown fuse. Did the same thing when I went for drive last night and then they blew. Iv switched them on and off with factory fog switch and appear to be staying on.

Nothing is grounded to bumper for the fogs. I haven't even begun the light bar harness. If I can't wire these correct il never get the light bar to work...lol

I literally installed mine the other week. Since mine is the same as yours, it should be pretty straight forward. Connect up the harness to the light bar. Then connect the red to the positive battery lead and the black to the negative. This harness will have an attachment for the switch and one for the push button as well. I left the push button disconnected and just plugged in the switch. All you have to do to test is just plug the light bar up to the harness and hook up the battery leads. You should see the switch toggle light up when the bar is on. If you can confirm this works, then disconnect the switch via the quick disconnnect and route from your dash to the firewall down below beyond your dash fuse panel and then clean it up.

Yeh man, was that simple! I just know my limits and electrical is one of them! Doesn't stop me from doing it, just makes me ask questions. Generally electrocute myself once / electrical project. Not this time....

Thanks for help guys. All is working well now. Just need to tuck this harness away....thanks again and it's all bright as hell

    Hopefully not a dumb question...

Is Squadron-R Pro Driving/Combo optics actually two lenses from the Wide Cornering and two lenses from the Spot? So it is identical in light pattern to a WC and a Spot mounted right next to each other with just lower power? So sort of like a Sport WC and Sport Spot in one housing given the Pro LEDs are more than double the output of the Sports?

Or is it actually a completely different optics set with different patterns for the Driving/Combo that doesn't give as wide a spread as the WC or as long a throw as the Spot?

Little confusing from the web site since the Driving/Combo is considered a Zone 3 when to me if it is two Spot lenses and two WC lens it would really be like Zone 1, 2, 4 and 5 all in one head. Especially when comparing a Pro D/C to the Sport Spot and Sport WC.

    Not a dumb question!

The Driving/Combo is one lens that features our Spot optics and Wide optics in one "Combo" lens.

It's a combination of two patterns in one. For example, one Squadron Pro Driving/Combo is 4900 Lumens. This would be equivalent to 1 S2 Pro Spot and 1 S2 Pro Wide Cornering stacked on top of eachother.

    Hope this helps!

Hey Bailey, I have a quick question about recessed mounting of Squadron lights in a plate bumper. Below is a rough diagram of a plate bumper. The burgundy color would be the hood and we are looking straight down toward the ground. The yellow boxes represent the Squadrons.

    fog light diagram.jpg

In your opinion would the deep recess toward the center of the vehicle lead to dark spots in the lighting pattern?

My lenses are combo/driving, could I perhaps orient them so the "spot" portion is toward vehicle center and the "wide" portion to vehicle outside? That is, instead of the different patterns stacked on top of each other they would be side by side.

I've seen lots of guys mount these lights in this recessed way but I was just curious if it affects the pattern at all.

    Thanks!

You will have some reduced spread of the Wide Cornering pattern found in our Wide Cornering or Driving/Combo lights. With that being said, my Squadron-R's in Wide Cornering are recessed in a Demello Off-Road bumper and I have no dark spots in the middle of the pattern. It still shoots out far enough and wide enough to give me complete coverage for cornering, dust, fog, comfort lighting, etc.

I would recommend running the Driving/Combo and deciding from there if you want more distance or nearfield lighting. Thank You!

Bailey, Love the light from the Squadron R sport wide corners in my bumper. I have them aligned just above where the stock one were set. Have not gotten any one flashing at me and the seem as bright as my low beams. Now I want more light out front. What would be the best fit for this mounted on the bumper below my grill? A set of squadron Pro driving/combo or a 20" s8 light bar?

Both would be great options! The 20" S8 will provide more distance lighting due to the amount of Spot reflectors in the light.

With the 20" S8 Driving/Combo you have a total of 12 Spot optics and 4 Wide Driving optics. With the Pair of Squadron Pros you only have 4 Spot optics and 4 Wide Cornering optics.

A lot will come down to personal preference and the look you're going for. For both lights we offer interchangeable lenses, snap on rock guards (Black, Amber, Clear) and universal mounting solutions. Here is a breakdown with pricing between the lights.

How easy is it to adjust and align these? You've got them in the stock fog location on a stock bumper right? Could you nudge/adjust/tighten while installed or did you have to remove and adjust?

BTW, thanks for the pictures you posted - great comparison shot between the stock and then BDs!

I've got a 30" S8 and Squadron Sports wide cornering amber in my bumper. Would you suggest Squadron Pro wide cornering or the driving/combo for some pillar lights?

What pattern is the 30" S8? We recommend the Spot or Wide Cornering pattern for A-Pillar lighting. This all depends how the lights are aimed. If they are aimed straight down the road I would run the Spot pattern. The Driving/Combo has our Wide Cornering optics on the lower part of the light and this will cause more hood glare vs. Spot. If you are aiming the lights out towards the shoulder of the road, a VERY popular pattern is the Wide Cornering. When aimed properly you will have amazing cornering lights and extra comfort lighting for seeing animals and other obstacles off the roadway. I personally run this setup and love it! Very nice to see everything off the sides of the roadway. There are plenty of times where a Deer would have been undetected without the additional A-Pillar cornering lights.

Hope this helps! It all comes down to how you're using the lights.
