    I would guess the 2rz block is shorter since it uses shorter rods.

    I thought other than the use of balance shafts the block was the same and the rotating assembly was what changed.

    Naw. The 3rz is stroked a bit more, and uses a balance shaft.

    Toyota made a lot of stupid decisions on the early 1st gens. Want to put a v6 in a 4cyl truck!? Engine mounts are 1" off. Want to add power windows? Nope, it is not pre-wired.

    Because I had an entire parts truck at my disposal, I figured why not! Got it for dirt cheap too. also had power windows, locks, cruise, tilt column, intermittent wipers, and the clock. Not bad for an early single cab.
