Hello all. I wanted to inform and warn you about ICON VEHICLE DYNAMICS. I recently purchased the icon stage 4 kit for my 2015 Toyota Tacoma I had them installed. And after 4 weeks of use I had the driver side rear RESI start leaking really bad. And 2 weeks later the passenger rear RESI started leaking as well. I contacted icon for a warranty. Sent them pictures. And all I got was , they were installed incorrectly. To bad for you, your warranty is void. I call bull shit on that. Cause I've been on the forums for over 2 years and wheel daily with people who have the same icons as me installed the same way. And never heard of having to notch the shock buckets for fitments. I haven't heard of King or FOX or other major suspension companies having this issue. I'm very upset and wanted to know if fellow Tacoma world people notched their buckets for fitments.

Looks like I'm going to UPGRADE TO KING.. IMG_20170328_090558148_HDR.jpg Screenshot_20170328-111053.jpg Screenshot_20170328-123042.jpg

Remove the reservoir from the mount, rotate the shock body counter clockwise and see if you can tighten the fitting going into the shock body.

I have the same shocks. I installed myself and I'm really particular with instructions and I don't recall them showing to notch the shock bucket. I wonder if they revised the instructions? Luckily I havent had this issue. Guess I'll be looking into notching these now.

It really is a bummer. It's an OEM replacement/upgrade. But now they say you need to notch your shock buckets...

    lol?

    Kind of self explanatory...

When I had these shocks on my truck, the pushing/pulling of the hose when the suspension would cycle caused the fitting that screws into the shock body to become loose. I ended up remounting the reservoirs in a different position to eliminate it from happening again.

I didn't notch mine. I made sure the shocks were rotated to a spot so the resi fittings cleared the shock mount buckets. Iirc, my instructions did not say to notch anything.

You know I had the same issue with my Icon rear remote resi. This was about 2 years ago, after two off-road trips to Gorman. LOL!!!

Luckily, I sent in and they fixed without question. This makes 4 people we know all with the same issue?

Just to play the other side here, what about all the people who run ICON and have been very happy with absolutely no problems? Would their stories make you want to buy ICON?

    is this an electrolysis issue??

or does the bucket hit the hose fitting during bumps, slowly chipping it away and causing leaks?

I'm just playing devil's advocate here, but what about all the people they have helped? You'll almost always hear a bad story, rarely the good.

Are they blown or is the fitting loose?

    Shit on a black truck.
Did the instructions that came with the shocks say to notch the mount?
