I have the same issue in a 2017 TRDOR DCSB, the original dealer blew off any mention of it so I'm trying a new dealer with a better reputation in the next week or so at my 10K service, not going to mention the TSB but insist a tech rides with to feel it and hopefully measure the pinion angles. If nothing happens I will open a case with Toyota and see if they will budge. I can feel it in the floor, pedals and up through the seat and its pretty consistent, almost every stop and exactly at 20-15mph.

I will keep this thread updated when the time comes of the results from my endeavors. Good luck to everyone trying to get this issue resolved!

No they did not repalce the leafs. Not sure why they felt they needed to replace the driveline? They said they discounnected the driveline and drove it and the vibration was gone so they decided it was a faulty driveline. Not sure how they drive the truck with the driveline disconnected that powers the rear wheels. Toyota corporate is involved but they seem clueless not sure why they didnt just perform the tsb first. Not sure if Offroad Manuals have different part numbers but sure as hell seems to be same problem accross the board regardless of trim or transmission.

I have a 2016 TRD sport 4x4. I just had the boss 2.5 kit installed and the steering wheel console and pedals are vibrating from about 10 to 30mpr. I'll upload some videos that shows the zerks on the drive line before I took it for a test drive

I put it in 4H and the vibrations lessened a bit and then I stopped put it in 4Lo and the 4Lo light kept blinking like the seat belt reminder

But it gets better, about 200 feet later it's seized up on me like my power steering went out. Struggled to get back into two wheel drive and now worried to use 4 wheel drive

    Any suggestions?

Tried upload videos put my phone's a piece of shit

I've got a 2016 SR 4x4 DC. Started noticing the vibration just before 5k, mentioned it and they just kind of blew me off. Mentioned it again at 10k, then admitted they were aware of an issue but were waiting for Toyota to issue a fix. Took it in this morning for 15k service and mentioned again and said "I heard there was a TSB that might cover it". Service writer looked it up and said they would have technician take a look but didn't think my VIN was covered o_O. An hour later, "You were right". Ordering springs for delivery and install tomorrow. Gave me a new Highlander as a loaner.

Did you put it in 4H & 4Lo on the pavement?

Yes, I'd review the manual. Before moving at all in 4 Lo, the light should be solid, indicating the shift has completed. If it doesn't go in the first time, you go back to 4 high and move around a bit, then try again. You don't want to be moving at all (well, less than 2mph for MT, stopped and in N for AT) when the Tcase is trying to shift between Hi and Lo. Sometimes it takes a couple tries for the gears to align and engage. Take care during the process or you can and will break things.

As has been stated as well, do not 4WD on dry pavement. The wheels must be able to slip to keep the driveline from binding. If it won't shift back to 4 Hi and/or 2 Hi, try backing straight up a few feet.

Most all of this is covered starting on P244 of the manual.

I'm having some washboard feeling stops. It's not every stop. Probably 50% of the time. I will mention it at the 5k service and see what they say.

Me too, and only maybe 1/3rd of the time. To be honest, I think they are barking up the wrong tree with this. My driveline angles are all well within spec. I think its a brake resonance with the remainder of the suspension or frame structure.

I think the whole damn truck made it through development without passing through the NVH department. Its not terrible, but just annoying, especially given the tools and knowledge out there about NVH these days!

Picked the truck up last night. I can say that "most" of the symptom is gone. 90% or better improvement, but not 100%. So pretty much what everyone else has experienced I guess.

I'm kind of new here, but I am having the same issues with my 2016 TRDOR DCLB. Pulsing vibration around 25-40 mph, and grinding vibrations in the floorboard and gas pedal during acceleration. I have had the TSB done and that did absolutely nothing to fix the issue. Finally the dealer drained the fluid front the front diff and it was full of metal shavings. So they replaced the whole front diff, and driver's side axle. It has been about a week and the problem has come back, granted not anywhere as rough as before, but it is back.

    Any suggestions?

This is my first Toyota and I can't believe so many people are having this issue and they can't seem to find a solution.

Keep on the dealer until they get it resolved is best I can tell you. This particular TSB addresses a vibration/shimmy that mostly occurs during deceleration around the 20mph mark. Toyota states its caused by a misalignment in the drive train and the fix is to install upgraded rear leaf springs, wedges and a steering dampener. Sounds like you have a little more that that going on...

Just picked up my 17 TRDOR this past weekend. Truck was built in February and I notice this vibration when I slow down. I was curious if anyone else had this issue so I came here to search. And what do you know, this thread pops up. Truck has less than 600 miles on it.

Tried a new dealer, got the same write off. I'll have to call one or the other to make an appointment to have someone drive it around with me and confirm the rumble strip. PITA

So is everyone just getting new leaf springs and the steering damper? Is this actually fixing the issues? I'm seeing some yes and some no lol.

After a week of driving, I don't commute with my truck so it takes a while to get mileage, I can say my vibration is gone. Even being sensitive to the issue I struggle to feel the the pulsing/shuttering I felt before. I had the damper installed and new leaf springs added. Having said that, Toyota admits (via my service advisor) that this TSB may not completely resolve the problem in all cases. It is just intended to minimize it.

Update: Drove with the shop lead technician at my dealer yesterday and he said they do not have upgraded leaf springs to do the TSB on offroads. He said the new leaf packs they are installing are softer and allow more give when coming to a stop. He thinks its a design characteristic of these trucks and its a ressonance of the springs leafs and driveline angles when decelerating coming to a stop. He said he has seen quite a few trucks with this and the Sports are by far the worse with this problem. They have replaced the driveline, and installed the steering damper on mine but no change whatsoever. Not sure any of this means anything for anyone. My next step is next week when the Toyota regional technician comes in they want me to bring the truck back and drive with him. Not sure what the purpose of that is when its already a known issue. My 4R Pro can't get here soon enough.

When you say "they do not have upgraded leaf springs to do the TSB on offroads" do you mean your dealer or Toyota?

Per the technician, Toyota does not have new leaf packs for the Off Road whereas they do for SR5's and Sports. Those that are receiving leaf packs on Off Roads I believe must be getting the same part numbers as before. As the packs break in my guess the vibration will come back. The new leaf packs for SR5's and Sports are softer than original thus allowing more give to mask the vibration. Again just passing on what I was told, this particular technician lead knew the problem and sounded knowledgeable, he didnt say it was normal rather they all unfortunatley do it and the Off Roads are much better at masking it. I had a 2017 DC OR LB for a loaner and it did the exact same vibration as mine and it had 3000 miles on it, mine has 10,000.

Since I had my OR springs replaced last week I guess I will find out if it comes back. I had the vibration since new (at 20k miles now) and now I don't. On my invoice it noted poor assembly as the cause of the problem.
