    They don't add anything to the truck other than aesthetics and maybe reduced dirt on the panels. I've got some tire stickout but I'd rather spend money on trail prep items like armor.

    Aside from some extra coverage (width) I thought they were tucked up higher so that they allow a larger (diameter) tire.

    That would be new fenders/quarter panels, not just fender flares. Those are used on long travel setups but that's probably a ways off.

    Hello good people of Austin. Just moved here (north west side) yesterday from Louisiana/Houston for a new job with a startup. Any recommendations on light off roading nearby? Mountain bike trails? Cycling (no drop, because I'm not good) groups? Craft beer and good happy hours? Good dog spots? My 16 pound wiener dog mix is a killer. I'm near the intersection of 2222 and 620.

    I've been here a number of times for weekend trips and whatnot, but it's always been 6th/Rainey kind of weekends. One of my favorite spots here is Whip In, but It's nearly an hour with low traffic to get there from where I live.

    Any information is greatly appreciated!

    @CaptainAmerica get this guy on the list. There is Cars N Coffee at the Oasis every second Sunday of the month, which happens to be just about walking distance from 620 n 2222. Get there early, 730-8 and you'll get all the advice and info you can handle from a bunch of Tacoma truck guys.
