Hey guys, Im watching Expedition Overland videos right now and wondering are they using metal or plastic Jerry cans?

 

Anyone here have a foxwing with a room/floor enclosure?
I'm trying to create a setup like that, seems like it's going to take a few of those ARB 3 pack wall sets and figuring out how to get a floor in all there

Calling all wood choppers and splitters. I am considering adding a nice axe to my tool kit. Thinking about a medium length one. Not going to carry a longer one. Thinking 25" or less. It would primarily be used to split already cut pieces.

I am curious about two things. One is the appropriate length and the other is the brand/quality/price point.

I was looking at these two Fiskar axes. Both are 23.5" but there is a 10$ difference in price. The one labeled as a 'splitting' axe (X17 model) cost more that the one labeled as a 'chopping' axe (X15 model). Wondering what the difference is other than price. Is there an added value that I'm not understanding?

I am not very experience with splitting but don't want to be caught without something when out on my adventures. Up until now I've always relied on others to do this when camping out in the wilds.

 

I have both the chopping and the splitting ax, and the splitting ax has a broader head behind the blade to open up or split the wood.

 

I can see the value of the ones with longer handles. But the length also creates other problems with carrying and storage. At 36" there is no way this will fit in my tool boxes.

I keep an X15 on the truck all the time and an X27 I bring with me on bigger trips or use at home. I've been really impressed with what the X27 is capable of in one swing. Plus being 6'2" it's nice having something that matches my height too. @Chux came on one trip with an X25 as his carry splitter and X7 as his hatchet. Both are much better sized for keeping on the truck all the time.

 

I also have that tailgaterz thing too and it really helps to keep things organized. Hangs from my bed rack. I like the organizer in your box, got me thinking now.
