A lot of dealerships sell the color matched (factory) grill on eBay, weird I know but that's how I got mine! (super white). Just find out your trucks paint color code (super white is 040 like you see in the picture I attached) Really easy to tell when it's a Toyota dealership selling one or not. You can try that. I tried painting/ plastidipping mine many times and it just looked off no matter what I did. But if you do go the route of just painting it, the grill is fully removable, just the previous guys said just look up a DIY and you'll find what you need.

Pull off your grill, take it apart, clean / degrease it, wet sand the chrome paint off(1200 grit), get some color matched paint, paint it, and then clear coat it.

You can buy a can of color matched spray paint for your truck here:
    http://www.automotivetouchup.com/

I recommend you get a can of the clear coat while you're at it.

Do lots of thin coats and take your time between coats. Painting is easy, but most people are impatient. Remember that.

Might cost you $40 for everthing including a few beers. Just take your time and do your prep work.

If you mess up, who cares, that's how you learn.

I took a pressure washer to mine to strip the chrome paint off then had it painted at a body shop for $50.

Sprayed mine with Dupli color exact match.

Don't skimp on the prep work and get some good primer.

Probably his own high powered one. I doubt the ones at local car wash will do anything like that.

Not sure, I just used what Automotive Touchup recommended and it does look pretty spot on.

I'll post a pic up once I do the final polish and waxing. Still letting the paint cure on mine.

Did mine this last weekend. I made sure to prep it well and used adhesion promoter. Then i did 4 coats of base and 6 or seven coats of clear. The finish is factory quality and i havent even buffed or polished yet. If you do it right it will look great and i am very confident it will last as long as the factory paint. I spent about 50 dollars and ended up with paint left over. I got the paint from automotivetouchup.com, and was very pleased with their products and service.
If you hate the chrome grill like i do i highly recomend it. Just do the reserch to make sure you take the necessary steps to do ut right.
