    Hi,
I just bought an old 2000 access cab (base model ) and I'm slowly looking to fix the issues.
First one being the rear suspension ( 1 shock is leaking) .

The truck has a 2 inch lift but it looks like the shocks are still the OEM shocks. The previous owner said that he fitted a spacer and added an extra leaf spring in the back. Nothing is sagging.

Will the 5100 shocks fit my Tacoma at the lowest height setting ? I don't want it lifted any more than it is.

(here's a pic - ignore the evil rust - I plan to deal with that next month as the weather improves)

Uh... never mind I did a full search and there are lots of threads ask the same thing. 5100 lifts will work at lowest settings but not recommended with a spacer so I might remove the spacer first.

Just an FYI because it isn't clear, there aren't any settings for the rear 5100s. I don't think the rear OEM shocks can withstand lifts, so you might want to replace the shocks on all 4 corners.

The front 5100s have settings to achieve lift with OEM coil springs, or can be set on the lowest setting with OME coil springs. Either way, you can toss the spacer, it wouldn't be needed anymore.

Ah thanks good to know . Looks like the previous owner just kept the OEM shocks which is likely why one is busted : (

The rear has an extra blade for the lift I think ... can I just swap the rear OEM shocks for the 5100's for now without affecting the rear ride height ?

I plan to replace the front suspension as well 6 motnhs later but just trying to prioritise the issues so that I don't have to blow a big bunch of $$$ at once.

Yep. Tossing 5100s in the rear won't affect height at all. Shocks don't provide lift in the rear, it's the leaf springs that do all the lifting.
