So i just ordered a HC with swingout. Anyone here a biker and know if the hitch mounted bike racks will still work? Specifically the Yakima one that lets the bike sit in the wheel slots. Not a hanging rack. I'm assuming with the spare tire, it won't work.

Not that you want to go out and buy a new one, but you could get a tire mounted bike rack. I had one on my wife's jeep and it worked really well. That way you wouldn't have to work around the swingout.

I'm just going to get s hitch mount tension. Should be fine. I don't want to spend another couple hundred bucks on s bike rack.

Why not just get the front fork mount and mount it to the cab wall inside the bed? Along the accessory rail? I have one riveted to the back of my toolbox

Because I have a massively long downhill bike and enduro bike that doesn't fit inside the bed. Even with the front when pulled off
    And a bed rack

Gotcha, I have a 29" Trek that just barely fits in mine with the gate up.

Okay. I don't know if I did something really stupid, or really smart.

I told my wife that sometime towards the end of the year I'm going to talk to her about buying a super awesome dual swingout bumper. I told her to tell me "no, rather put the money towards a really nice welder and build your own."
