DC rear seat storage bins removed!

Finally ripped out the plastics bins. There is WAY more storage space without those stupid things. No problems with the seat back. I'll post some pics when I get home tonight. All you need is a 10 mm socket and a few firm tugs.

I like my cheesy plastic storage bins... but for no particular reason...

 

sorry its been so long. As you can see there is A LOT MORE ROOM with the bins removed. I've got a slime air compressor from autozone, my jumper cables, first aid kit, and a tarp back there when i took the pic.

 

Would this work out on a 1st gen?

Have you ever had to use that slime kit? If so, how well did it work?

 

did u keep the other storage bins under the seat?

I put some air in a civic tire once with it. Took a while but it worked enough to get to a gas station. Haven't tried it on anything else yet. If it isn't raining tomorrow I'll rip open the seat storage bins and try to get some pics.

 

cool. because it seems like without the seat ones, there would be more room.

I'm thinking about doing this soon. I'd really like the extra room in the cab for some of my more expensive recovery items

Questions for those who have done it;

1. Any additional road noise to speak of?

I recently got the heavy duty slime air compressor and it worked great not sure what model that one is. I took some tires on my jet ski trailer from 40 to 90 psi and it did just fine didn't struggle at all and never got hot.

 

1. If the seats are up, I don't really notice it. However, if the seats are down, the road noise is quite noticeable to me. Another forum member recommended using some FatMat to handle the noise. I'll probably install something similar.

2. This is what mine will look like, but I still need to drill a couple holes and install a couple rivnuts.

What's the perforated metal for? Are you going to attach items directly to the surface?

 

It is a MOLLE/PALS system for attaching pouches/bags/etc. to the panel. A fellow forum member nat came up with the panel.

I had mine cut to accomodate my JBL amp/sub, but he also sells 3 different sizes.

 

I have a question hope you can answer it , what are the dimensions when those plastics bins are removed ? can you throw in some kind of truck cargo organizers or something like it ? Thanks
