I don't think it's that simple. I believe if they're seized, the rubber bushings in them are shot too. You'd have to completely remove the LCAs, get the old garbage out, and get new bushings pressed in.

That's what I'd do! If you follow the install instructions linked above where you lower the LCA, that'll be a real obvious indicator of whether or not they're seized. Fingers crossed they're not!

I did this lift about 1 month ago. took me and a friend 5 hours to do the front and back. My first time ever and his first Tacoma. I didn't have to remove the sway bar links. I just removed the 2 bolts at the bottom of the knuckle to remove the lower Ball Joint. I also loosened the the alignment cams fully swing out the LCA to remove the Front Coilover. Then again mine was a 2015 and in Texas so I didn't have rust problems.

you must of had it on a lift, with it high enough you can but on small jack stands it makes it hard to maneuver out

I used 2 - 6 ton harbor freight jack stands one for each side so both sides were off the ground.

Are you positive you don't have the parts? All AALs should come with a new center pin, and depending on the AAL new U bolts are required.

Factory Ubolts are long enough for a single leaf AAL.

If you HAVE to do new Ubolts, this is a perfect opportunity to do a Ubolt flip kit BTW.

I'm running the same lift as OP. 42,000 miles on it now and still very pleased.

I learned the other month that factory u bolts (at least on a third gen) are long enough for a 3-leaf AAL too!

I'm worried that my u bolts are to rusted up from all the New England salt roads... also I haven't opened the leaf packs they are wrapped in plastic so I figured I didn't get hardware, I'll open them up when I get home.

Did you get a single AAL or a 3-leaf progressive AAL?

Kentucky tends to get a lot of ice as opposed to snow. They salt the shit out of the roads here. My 2011 got it's lift in very early 2016. Some bolts were stubborn, but nothing broke. I use my own brew for penetrating oil. (Automatic trans oil and brake fluid 50/50 mix)

Then it didn't come with new U bolts. I would look at your current ones and see how rusted they look, because if they're not bad you can definitely reuse them.

Well it's took 7.5hrs.. the tears had to be cut out with a cutting wheel (air guns are awesome) had the Hi Lift in the hitch kick out 2 times while it was way up to get to get the leafs to open. Luckily we had jack stands and that my stepdad didn't have the truck crush him or his hands... tailgate has some gouges now.. The center pins that came with the kit are cheap and the 1st one stripped while turning it in not torquing so I had to get a grade 8 bolt similar and grind the head down to fit. The left strut tower had a seized and stripped bolt that took some time to get out and then assembling the tie rod the crown but was too striped and rotted to reuse so I had to buy a new tie rod end just for the nut ha.. but it's all done now and I love the way she sits!
