Bilstein 6112 set at 5th clip?

Anyone here that has the bilstein 6112 set at the highest clip? Your reviews on it and how you like it. I have a DCLB. Looking to upgrade my current set up. 5100s with 885s and 3/8 top plate driver, 1/4 pass. Only getting 2in of lift .

Use more spring.

I have had several customers go with the higher notch settings on the 6112's, like the 5th setting for the 4dr 4wd, and most don't mind the ride quality even with that amount of preload. I have had some people say that they received around 1/4" more lift from the 6112's then what is spec'd out.

Ride quality can be subjective though and really comes down to your personal perception of what is stiff and what is soft.

All of the Bilstiens ride like crap on the highest setting, I had my head bounce off the roof of a 4runner last year after "lifting" it. I'm more cautious when I test drive after lifting on max ring.

Subjective of course, I'm tall so I don't like bouncy

 

I have definitely seen that with the 5100's on the highest settings. Have you run the 6112's? I always like to hear peoples real-world experiences so I can better help my clients.

 

Only reason I asked is because one of my friends 16" 4runnner has the 6112 at the 5clip and rides real nice. I even drove it. Night and day from my set up. At the same time, I can't justify spending over 1k on front coilovers.

 

I have really only heard good things about the 6112's aside from the normal which is notch settings vs fully adjustable etc. But most people seem to really like them. They seem to handle the preload far better then the 5100's which preload the stock springs. Which is why so many choose to go with aftermarket lift coils instead of preloading those.

Yes Exactly why I would get those instead of true coilovers, not breaking the bank. Even with aftermarket coils, it's still kinda harsh. Plus Haven't hear anything bad about the 6112, I'm gonna try it. Expect an order within next week or so

 

I have em since release (2nd clip with maxtracs)and not one complaint. They keep up with my rear 2.5 fox dscs

 

I run my 6112s at the highest setting - no complaints at all.

The front suspension is firm, but flexes fine off-road. I do need to do something with my swaybar...

 

What's the deal with the sway bar ? Does it rub on the coil or make noise ? You can try the sway bar relocate kit . The reason I ask is I will be installing the 6112s soon and have heard different things about the sway bar . Some people even remove it . But I don't know what the consiquences are of removal if any . Thanks for your input .

No rubbing, no noise, no need for relocation.

I don't want to completely remove it, as I tow a trailer.

I want to fabricate a quick-disconnect system, so that while off-road, I can have a truly independent suspension.

 

Been a while but ...... have about 500 miles now after lift install . Rides great , no issues what so ever . 75 mph rides smooth on highway . Have not been off road yet . Also the Falken Wildpeaks are really quiet on the road !

 

What size tires are you guys running on the 6112 and what setting? I don't want 265/70 to look undersized but I feel like it would be more functional. Input and pictures would be helpful.
