Exactly. You have a blank slate and can do whatever you want and not break the bank buying the truck to begin with.

I attached them by using the preexisting fender bolts and using 3M double sided tape across the top. no drilling. They match up just about perfect and are attached very sturdy. I did need to get extra fender bolts and some grommet clips since some holes needed a grommet to place the screws into but only on the bottom if I remember correctly. I also had to remove the small black trim piece on the rear behind the back wheels, it is held in by one screw and 2 clips/small adhesive strip. This is because this piece is longer on the SR models due to no fender flares( but it interferes with fender flare installation) . You could keep this trim piece off if you wanted or get the trim piece from a model that comes stock with fender flares i.e. SR5, Sport, Offroad which is what I did. Hope this answered your question.

    Here's that trim piece I'm talking about:IMG_0654.jpg

Hi man! How did you attached the fender flares? Drilled? Double sided tape???
I've been thinking about doing this to my truck since day one...

They are for earlier model tacomas I think '15. But they fit 3rd gens. The part number should be:
    PT212-35053

they are access cab running boards. I've heard with modification you can fit the double cab running boards on which look a little better IMO.

Can I ask all you SR folks if you think you miss the MID in the center of the dash?

I never had it, so I'm not sure what is there to miss.
I feel like the thing in the center of my dash is adequate. It tells me the outside temp. and mileage, not sure what else I need.

Not a SR but I bought the SR5 for the digital readout. Had it in the 2015 Colorado I traded in and I test drove a SR but knew I would miss the digital speed readout so I stepped up a model. Also bought the SR5 for the alloy wheels. The individual TPMS readouts are nice also. Check to see before you get to far down the road if any of your tires lost air pressure since the last time I had my arse in the seat.

It does every I throw at it with relative ease, and its even a 2wd. Obviously I have to be careful with sand and mud, but even that it handles extremely well. Very happy with it

IMG_0484.jpg I got the Weathertech no drill mudflaps. They went on pretty easy. The front ones though require a screw on the bottom of the flap going into the fender. The screw is supplied by Weathertech. My problem is there is nothing for the screw to grab onto.Anyone else run into this ?Also how much did you tighten the other screws? I snugged mine up pretty good but I'm afraid of stripping something if I go too tight.

I noticed that as well and just left them off. That was over a year ago and no problems so far.
