Body shop laziness

Just had a very small dent and some scratches ( keyed with razor knife ) fixed . Also had the smallest surface rust on top of both rockers ( smaller than a dime ). Any way after about 10 days I wash my truck and there is a film all over the hood , windshield posts and top of fenders .Not to mention all the glass . Piss me off . Bring it back and guy says - bring it back in a couple weeks and we will buff it . Clay barred it myself and had to use a razor to scrape all the glass . WTF . Used this guy before vwith no problem but not again after this .Any one else deal with this crap before .

 

Yikes! I usually do a pre-inspection before I pick up. Had the truck in the shop back in February where some bozo rear ended me. Had a well known shop in the area do the repair. Ended up having wrinkled paint near edge of bumper like a wadded up hair. Thankfully still waiting on TRD Sport decals, so I had them fix before I picked up the truck. Time for a new shop.

 

Yep, people change. Work standards change. It's unfortunate.

Last shop I used wiped down my interior trim, washed my floormats and door jambs.

He'll get more business.

 

Yea , I just looked it over when I picked it up and every thing looked good until I got my hands on it to wash it . It was cold and rainy and bunch of snow on the ground when I picked it up . Today was over 80 Wash again and spot clay barred again !

 

I've painted vehicles and had "blotchy" or dry spots. I've inted them and had little runs. Ive painted them and ended up with oversparay on the windshield and hood. The difference is I fixed it all prior to delivery. Production shops are different. In and out as quick as you can and painting isn't always easy but yes, these defects should have been caought and fixed.

 

We just took my sisters brand new Honda in to get a small scratch fixed on the quarter panel. They ended up buffing the whole car (just to be "nice", I assume). Looked great until I got it out in the sun. It's covered in buffer holograms. Unreal. An extremely reputable body shop that I've used before with great results. Shit happens, I guess. I'll be able to remove the holograms with an all-in-one in a pass or two, but frustrating nonetheless. I feel your pain.
