scott96929, so, you've got a short bed taco, with the larger tepui tent,, 72" long it looks like. I'm doing the same thing... did/do you have any concerns with mounting that larger tepui to the bed rack shown? I'm planning the same thing but concerned about the overhanging/unsupported portion of the tent... any thoughts? I'm waiting for RCI to confirm they could support a similar set up with their bed rack. else, I need one custome made-- hoping not. thanks for any insight you may have.

...yes, I could go with a higher bed rack and overhang the tent over the cab instead of off the back, but I like what scott96929 has done better. anyone else hang their tent overhang like this? I've scoured the forums for pics and haven't found many, and no locals (colorado).

My rtt hangs over my bed by about 18", but doesn't look too bad thanks to my swingout and full size spare mounted. 20170401_101331.jpg

Yep-- that looks great, CoBackCountry. thanks for the Pick! This is my plan. Yours is BrutForce Fab?

I'd been focused on using RCI, as I love the look of their rack, but it's a bit short, i think, for a longer tent (72") on a DCSB...

Anyone running a larger (longer) tent with a shorter bed rack than CoBackCountry?

Yes it's a Brute Force Fab bed cage and I love it. I'm in Vail if you're ever out this way and want to see it in person

    Hey Joel,
I have had no issues with the overhang of my RTT. My RTT is the Kukenam XL Ruggedized which has the diamond plate aluminum base which adds strength so no issues. I've had this setup for almost 2 years. The extra foot wide does make a huge difference for accommodations and comfort.
My bedrack is designed and built by @zscott of Prinsu Design Studios. The rack has 3 main bars for the RTT to rest on as well as additional 80/20 bars used for securing the RTT.
I would definitely recommend using a minimum of 3 cross bars to support a 6' wide RTT. It will help distribute the load and all of the weight of individuals sleeping at night. When all is done man, lets see some pics....

    The basket is 4x5

Just some brackets I threw together . They were suppose to be only temp till I had time to fab full crossbars. But I havent gotten around to it yet. Theyve held up to some decent loading tho.20170521_091747.jpg
