Another headlight thread...

I have the opt7 led's and have been pretty happy with them.Had them in since last June and,knock on wood, no issues.

The xenondepot.com Tacoma HID kit appears to only include the low beams? What do I need to change the high beams as well?
I have LED fogs that already match my factory LED DRLs. I'm trying to change everything over to match those.

Now, I did not have a level enough space to properly align the beams, so, it took me a couple days to get them where I needed them. I honestly don't like blinding people, so, I wanted to make sure the beams were not too high. I also do not run the fogs in the city as they are super bright....I live out in the county, so, when I'm on the back roads I'll turn them on. Hi beams are almost not even needed at this point, but they are there.

Also, I think you can call DDM as well...they may have something in stock and if they do, I would ask if they could ship from California. And always ask for a discount, it never hurts to ask.

I went with xenondepot.com HID kit with 4300K Phillips bulbs. This temp provides the best light output (most lumens) which is what I was wanted. So much brighter than the standard halogens.

ok. this is what I'm looking at. Was this only the low beams? What did you do about the high beams?

I did both. They have the H9 high beams too. The kits are nice and pretty easy to install too.

On the website, if you do the vehicle chooser, the only show the H11 bulbs for the Tacoma OR. Am I missing something?

I went with a CanBus from DDM Tuning and love them! I had to adjust them over a period of 3-4 days to get them where I wanted, but they are awesome! Easy install overall, just plug and play.

I also matched the fogs and ended up going with an LED for the high beams so they don't have to warm up.

Simple, clean, easy install, functional, and they look really good. Only downside, I had to wait about 10 days for my order as they shipped from China.

I'll see if I can post a pic up of the truck later tonight after it gets dark....Total was $231 for everything. Here is a photo of the order...hope it helps.

EDIT: I have super white as well and they look really good with it...just a hint of blue in them, but not over the top with the 5500k

Morimoto 5500k 50w , no bounce great output and almost identical to the pro rigid industries foglights and drl's which are more of a 6000-6500k

So I've read up on HID's a few times. But I don't even know what to go for. Some are bouncing or vibrating, some with relays and harnesses, others without.
What are you running AND LIKE? And also how close is the color to the DRL LED strip?

Packaging

Low beams

Nicely packed into a box with a thank you note and organized cutouts in foam, that box is wrapped in bubble wrap, and that box is wrapped in black plastic with shipping tape. Packed very nicely and everything seems of great quality.

Relay

Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of the packaging but it was secure. Relay looks like it is excellent quality and definitely beefy.

Installation tips:

I followed all of @Scooby24's advice and tips. Only two additional things I did:

Add a ziptie to the 9006/H11 adapter going from the relay harness to the driver side OEM headlight input to hold it in place and keep it in from unclicking

Dremel off two lugs on passenger side ballast to use the same grounding location that Scooby used, may not be necessary but the two mounting lugs was pushing it just a hair higher than the grounding hole so removing those lugs helped

Performance

Massive improvement over the halogen bulbs in the projectors. They are much whiter and brighter with better distance and a clean cutoff. These look like a factory option as opposed to the cheap HID kids on the market. I'm very happy with the improvement and would buy again.

Just put in Opt7 x fluxbeam
Happy so far, matches DRL's and Pro fogs, left has stock bulb for comparison.
