4300K will give you more usable light. A touch of yellow in it. As the temperature goes up on hid bulbs the visibility will decline and the colour will change to a bluish white. Just waiting for my 4300 hugh beams bulbs to show up. Will then match my 4300k low beams and be fairly close to my 5000k Moromito fogs. The oem high bulbs in my truck are a dismall yellow 3300K

My conclusion is the same. 6000k are much too blue, visible light is reduced, colors are all off, eyes are strained and they just appear dimmer. They look tacky on the truck too. Obviously aftermarket.

If 5000k were available I think that would be perfect, but alas in these bulbs they aren't.

    4300k bulbs are back in.

Scooby, thanks for doing that, any chance you're considering trying a set of the 5000k non-ball style bulbs, for science? How much better are the ball style bulbs?

I can't say with certainty as the last time I tried straight vs ball was on my fusion in 2014. Different headlights entirely but I had straight cheap chinese bulbs (non cnlight) and they were off both on color and on light pattern. I bought Morimoto XB35 5000k to replace them which were the ball style and the result was night and day. I should note these are their OLD XB35....their new XB series bulbs are straight...and are crap in comparison IMO. In fact, I suspect the old XB35's were actually rebranded CNLight ball bulbs due to the patents they hold and how similar they looked.

Here are some comparison pictures from then.

I'm loving my 4300k I bought from them. It was a differnet eBay account but still the same factory, Joyce contacted me about getting the ball type. Even though they didn't have the specify ad posted I just messaged them and specified I wanted H11 with ball type. Very very glad I bought these lights!

Love my 6k installed lights. :) Also I am not using the relay and have no issues with a 20 amp fuse in place of the 15. If I wanted to try 4300k bulbs do I just get an H11 bulb now?

Has anyone looked into the Hyluxtek option from The Retrofit Source? I'm not a big fan of buying stuff like this off ebay and prefer a more reputable source (assuming they are from reviews and 1 previous purchase). Wouldn't be the CNlight bulbs but I could always change bulbs later. They also have a 45W ballast option I'm considering, a little more output but less likely to overheat the housings or be overpowering to other cars than 55W ballasts, in my opinion at least.

Anyone have any experience with these guys? They list a 5000k option for the CNlight ball bulbs.

Hmmmm. Seems like everyone who has bought these from this seller are extremely please with the product and the lighting results after installation. I would most certainly buy again.
How much more of a reputable source do you want????

True, but any idea how good they are on warranty or customer service? Not saying I wouldn't be just as pleased but if something doesn't work right or fails prematurely I'd like to have a little more reassurance.

Does anyone have any experience on this end with the recommended eBay seller?

Thanks a ton for this post, @Scooby24! It was immensely helpful and greatly appreciated. I got my kit all installed last night.

    Hardware and links:
    Packaging
    • Low beams
      • Nicely packed into a box with a thank you note and organized cutouts in foam, that box is wrapped in bubble wrap, and that box is wrapped in black plastic with shipping tape. Packed very nicely and everything seems of great quality.

    • Relay
      • Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of the packaging but it was secure. Relay looks like it is excellent quality and definitely beefy.

    Installation tips:

I followed all of @Scooby24's advice and tips. Only two additional things I did:
    • Add a ziptie to the 9006/H11 adapter going from the relay harness to the driver side OEM headlight input to hold it in place and keep it in from unclicking
    • Dremel off two lugs on passenger side ballast to use the same grounding location that Scooby used, may not be necessary but the two mounting lugs was pushing it just a hair higher than the grounding hole so removing those lugs helped

    Performance

Massive improvement over the halogen bulbs in the projectors. They are much whiter and brighter with better distance and a clean cutoff. These look like a factory option as opposed to the cheap HID kids on the market. I'm very happy with the improvement and would buy again.

Photos (sorry for poor iPhone pictures, doesn't do it any justice)
    • Before = OEM halogen low beams, OEM halogen fog lights, yellow Lamin-X fog light covers
    • After = Hyluxtek HID low beams, OEM halogen fog lights, yellow Lamin-X fog light covers

The 4th picture up I take it was with the light bar? That really brightens things up. What type and size bar is that? Nice pictures by the way.

Anyone have an idea on this? Could I buy bulbs from another seller to fix my kit or change out the bulb? I am pretty sure I can, but figured I would ask. This way I do not have to wait a month for bulbs.

Nope! That's HID lows and halogen fogs only.

Below are some photos of HID lows, halogen fogs, AND the light bar. Look at the trees in the distance and how they are now lit up. Note: none of these photos include the high beams which would light things up even further.

Light bar is a 32" MicTuning 180W model. See here for my write-up on the light bar including installation tips and more photos (super detailed instructions, photo heavy of every step)

The connectors for the bulbs are a standard so you're fine getting any replacement aftermarket h11b bulb.

Ordered this kit and relay harness. I've been on the fence trying to choose a HID kit for a while but this looks like it will do the job. Thanks for all the information Scooby24 and others who contributed. I'll update once it arrives and I get them installed.

Any reason why the relay is needed? Ive had any cars that I installed HID and not needing any relay to make it work.

Not needed. Just draws power from the battery and for a piece of mind.

The proper method is to use a separate harness to draw power straight from the battery, rather than (risk) overloading OEM currents and frying something. The relay is used to turn on/off the lights by using the signal from the OEM light wiring.
