Nice. I might get that one. I haven't used a screen protector since my Moto Q.

 

I religiously DONT use screen protectors, and usually no case either.. but this combo is absolutely perfect IMO. The case is super slim and basic, with soft touch material. The screen protector covers all of the glass and you cant even tell its on. The phone is so sleek and feels even better in the hand now.

Just got an email saying my phone has shipped, and I should have it on the 18th. They also gave me a tracking number for the SIM card, which is already in the phone...

 

That's what they did with me. At least it's finally shipped out!!!!

 

VZW update updates bootloader and there is no work around if you already have the update. New VZW phones ship with it.

 

I know there was a working method a month ago, but I haven't really looked into it. I'm sure chainfire on XDA has something in the works.

 

I've finally gave up with Root and custom roms. I love it but the amount of time it takes up just isn't worth it to me to have some new features on my phone. The Pixel is fast, simple, and works.

 

It's just not in me to leave things alone. When I had my M7, I tried a few Roms, but was tired of things not working. My M8 still has the stock Rom, but I need root for things like xposed and LMT

Yeah verizon patched that up, and there is no work around. Orderd a nexus 5x for the wife to tinker with. I am on a 3rd party rom and love it on the Pixel. But i also understand the frustration behind it and the incompatibility with apps and what not when custom os and sometimes rooted.

 

Not sure if I can live without root. Wondering if I should stick it out and see if someone finds a new exploit, or return it, and purchase through Google instead.

 

That's how I felt about root. But I'm not really missing it right now. The main reason I wanted root was to remove bloatware and the Pixel doesn't have much bloatware. I use almost all the google apps that come on the phone so I didn't have to disable/uninstall much.

 

I use mine stock AF.. I love it.

 

I bought a Google sold nexus 5x yesterday, i had it unlocked and rooted in minutes using nothing but terminal/adb/fastboot. Its built in. Return it if you can. buy the google version.

I also setup a couple fire sticks yesterday, omfg wireless adb is so nice. Also, running linux as my daily which I feel helps significantly when working on these phones and devices.

 

I was really torn between the Pixel and the HTC 10. If I buy a 10 now, it'll come with Nougat, and I'd have to send my phone out for S-Off (wouldn't be the first time).

Looks like the Pixel 2 is going to copy the looks of the Galaxy Edge.
