I guess I just aggravated it in my game and that's what caused the flare up. Lower back pain is one thing I would not fuck around with. I think you were smart by taking the time off. While I was continuing to lift, I was till squatting and dead lifting, albeit light weight, pushing through the pain, but the next day the pain would be ridiculous. I guess what I am trying to say is that if it hurts, don't push it. Even taking it easy can continue to do damage, or prevent it from healing.

Yep same here. It was painful to stand, bend, sit etc. I didn't go to work the next day. Pretty sure I felt a pop at the bottom of the squat. No pain in my legs or anything though. I planned on going to the doctor too if the pain didn't go away but I'm slowly getting better.

Nah bro, I am glad you asked. I have been meaning to catch up with you re: law stuff.

I am 6 weeks away from graduation. Only have 1 final this semester, but 2 tough "paper" assignments. I take the bar in July. I am going to clerk for a state judge for a year, starts the Monday after the bar. From what I can tell, civilian law translates relatively easily, but obviously there are differences. The black letter doctrine remains the same though. It also depends on what type of law you end up practicing. Luckily, the Judge I am clerking for was a Marine, and fully supports my decision, and actually encouraged me to do it. He is allowing me to take the time off next year to complete the Army Officer training which is 6 weeks at Ft. Benning. Then I will complete a 10 week "military law training" after my clerkship is over.

But all the Army stuff is dependent on me passing the bar...

If I don't pass in July, I will have another shot in February, although I am pretty confident that I will do fine, with the right amount of studying.

Good luck! I'm still a year and a half out and I'm already scared. Did you do any third party bar prep? I did the Kaplan LSAT prep and liked it a lot so I'm leaning towards it for bar prep, but a lot of folks have good things to say about Barbri, too.

Anyone bust capillaries when they lift super duper heavy and get red spots that look like bites? I still have some on my foot after a week of not heavy lifting. Or it's fungus...

I don't think the specific course really matters. What matter is just putting in the time. Barbri is the most popular. Kaplan has a good reputation as well. All said and done, they're really all the same. I chose Themis because it was the cheapest and I knew a few people who took it, liked it, and most importantly, passed.

Some power lifters rupture blood vessels so bad to the point that it breaks through their skin and they start bleeding on the platform. It's pretty badass.

Yeah, I've seen folks bust vessels in their chest, shoulders, and face, but never the feet.

Check out Pioneer Custom Lifting Belts and Accessories. Great little company in Texas that hand makes some crazy belts at a reasonable price. Cardillo Weightbelts are probably the best but the wait on those bad boys is pretty long, Pioneer will get a belt to you in 1/4 of the time.

Join the club. Paulo goes down with squats. I actually felt and heard my pop on a heavy ass deadlift trying to impress some old guys at the Y. Worked too still got the weight and controlled it all the way down. But suffered a L5-S1 herniation and some other crap they found during the MRI. But I've stopped deads for a month at least to make sure it has time to heal. Still lifting everything else.

curious as to why a single prong over double?

general consensus among internet people is that single prong is good enough and double prong can be a PITA sometimes. i tend to believe everything i read on the internet. Ended up going with this belt, hopefully its not a turd, but i dont have over $100 to drop on a belt right now, and it cant be worse then what i am currently using.

I will say my dark iron belt is actually pretty good. It's a double prong and was way under 100. But let me say it's pretty good for my use when I wear it. It's keeps me tight.
