Finally installed my Fibermax yesterday. Was scared about the fit after reading all the posts from the other Bak thread on here. My cover fits perfectly. Either I got lucky, or they worked out all the issues. Very happy with my cover.

I found my BakFlip HD leaked like crazy. After playing with it the water was coming in between the rail and the bed cap. The water was coming in through the 3 or 4 groves in the bed liner cap. I took them off today and applied a small bead of clear silicone to the bed cap and reinstalled the rail. It should take care of those pesky leaks.

finally got mine on yesterday! How was everyone's water tests? Also, anyone get "dimpling" when tightening down the fasteners in the front left and right? I moved the weatherstrip to get it to lay flatter. Had light rain and a little water comes in basically at the 4 points where the bed caps are the 1/16th lower by design.

so did everyone get seals like this between side bed caps and the installed bak rail (red arrow)? i could have sworn people got replacements, but i've called BAK twice and they sent me a bulkhead strip and a replacement seal (green arrow) but nothing that would go where the red arrow points to....anyone?

Common, simple problem. Ok so I am going to try to explain this as best I can on what I did to get my rails to sit perfectly:

if you look at your truck rail caps, you will see that they do not run completely 'flat' all the way to the tailgate, they 'taper inward' about 8" (or so) before the tailgate. if you remove the bak rail, you will see that the weatherstripping (indicated with red arrow) just runs parallel to the rail. This then makes the rail not sit flush on the bed cap, because if you look from the underside with a light, you will see that the weatherstrip goes up and gets smashed in between the tapered section (between bed cap and bak rail).

Very simple solution: loosen adhesive and reposition weatherstripping on section that sits on the taper section of the bed cap. Essentially, if you are still looking at it from the same view as your red arrow pic, the weatherstrip should be moved to sit flush against the 90 degree edge of the bak rail (a little left), and therefore you will be able to move the rail to the right to sit flush against the bed cap (with weather stripping filling in the little corner gap). As long as you adjusted the weather stripping correctly along the taper area, this will in turn also allow the bak rail to sit perfectly flush on the bed cap.

Seriously, just look at the whole thing from all angles (especially underside with a light) and you will see the 'problem' right away. Took me a little while to figure it out...

    Good luck!

Edit: not sure if 8", just going off memory

I did that, my rail sits flush as shown in first picture, however, quite a bit of water comes through, and not just at the tailgate and bulkhead where the holes are. I know tonneau's aren't waterproof but i believe i am getting a bit more water than others are. The second pic is from someone else on here, their seal seems different than the one i received.

Did anyone that received the replacement seals decrease the amount of water getting into their truck beds?
