anybody else ever use google earth to plan out their camping/wheeling trips? just started messing with it. seems pretty cool so far

 

I did. And now my wife and our friends have a regular summer trip up to Bowman lake area. There's a good amount of little lakes up there that aren't touched.

trying to look at places to park the truck at RTT camp for the weekend if i dont go to hollister (seems like its going to be CRAZY busy there). so looking at other options. looked at Clear Lake, but thats all booked up.

Yeah, there's routes posted on Overland Bound that you can download and import into Google Earth.

Also, if you're looking for somewhere to camp, just find some BLM land nearby and use Google Earth to find clearings and just drive up. Most BLM places you can camp wherever.
