    THE HISTORY

    DAY I BOUGHT IT
    [IMG]

    BACKGROUND
In 2013 I got an Airstream traveled to all 50 states for a project documenting religious buildings to make a couple books.
I spent over a year constantly on the go and ever since then I'm still in that airstream since as a photographer I travel a lot and I can still work remotely here in Utah.

Back then I had a v6 Venza rated to tow 3500lbs and I towed that 4000+lbs airstream well over 40k miles... and you can probably guess what broke on that Venza leading me to a Tacoma November 2015

    2016 BLACK / DBL CAB / SPORT / LONG BED / 4x4
I would have loved the offroad version but I needed a vehicle asap and their was only one 4x4 long bed with keyless entry anywhere on the west coast at the time.

    SECOND DAY
    [IMG]
Very first trail the stupid steps broke off on the smallest touch of a rock. I didn't want them anyway but i should have just taken them off first thing to sell them. oh well they ended up in the trash soon after.

    FIRST INSTALL - MUD FLAPS
    [IMG]
I got RokBlokz mud guards which i have since beaten up over and over and over and they have worked wonderfully for off roading and kept a great deal of dirt and mud away.

The owner of the company did install them and then we went and did some cool pics up in the mountains that same day.

    TOWING

The airstream hasn't been weighed in a while but I estimate about 4500lbs
Tows pretty nicely and used to get 13-15mpg but i've added a lot of weight recently.
I've towed about 20k miles and even at some high speeds just fine.

    COVER to CAP (A.R.E.)
    http://www.4are.com/product/mx/

Early on I did a trip from Oregon to Florida and got a pretty great tri-fold cover I could even stand or sleep on. But only used that for a couple months because A.R.E. came out with their first set of 3rd gen caps.

I am sponsored by them and give them lots of pictures to share and use on Social media or for marketing.

I am very happy with the style I chose and believe the best decision ever was getting the opening side windows with the screen vent option as well.

While the bars are more asthetic in nature, i do use them for hi lift and other storage until i get a cab rack. And some day bikes or kayaks.

    OVERLANDING + SLIDERS
    [IMG]

This 3 day trip to the Dollhouse in Canyonlands required sliders which i used heavily that trip.
I also grabbed a temporary bag for the top from costco, it wasn't that great and got pretty trashed after that trip but I needed some extra storage and a place to put gas because the trip required extra gas.

I'm doing the trip again soon and will have a cab rack for sure this next time.

I was sagging a bit by then so I hit my hitch a few times on that trail and I still had stock tires which were just fine for this type of terrain but sucked on mud later on.

RokBlokz were dang tough on this trail and took a beating.
Sliders were done local in Utah by a great welder Noah Taylor and were important for a truck as long as mine that hasn't gotten a lift yet.

    DRAWER / STORAGE SYSTEM

I'll do a follow up about storage system if there's interest it's extremely custom and i've been using it for a month or so and am very happy about it.

Again any questions you may have about this custom system just ask.

    THREAD FUTURE
    - Stay tuned to see what I do next and I'll keep adding new pictures perhaps if you want to see some great Tacoma pictures as I work towards my goal to have the best pictures of any 3rd Generation Tacomas. (Feel free to show me what my competition is as well... it's all just a fun goal anyway)

    SPONSOR INTEREST
There's a few more companies wanting good pictures of their stuff coming up and I'm happy to oblige I do photography for a living for about 10 years and my commercial shoots are pretty expensive but the truth is I'm gonna keep taking pictures of my truck so let's just work something out anyway and both of us will be happy about it.

    OTHER VEHICLES
Hope to see a few of you out there and get some of your pictures
I even will hang out with some Jeeps from time to time.

    SUGGESTIONS
Thanks for going through the pictures... I'm no expert on trucks I've only had it for a bit over a year and I'm still learning lots, specially from this forum. I will be looking into a lift specially for the types of roads I go on and the fast off-road driving I do in order to catch those sunsets.

I hope i get to meet up with some of you out here in Utah and go on some photo adventures

Thanks! And yep a lot of Utah pictures in there. Love going up Mineral Basin and over on Lake mountain or West mountain with Timp in the back.
I have a couple books of LDS Temples with a couple more books in the works of mostly other architecture.

The one and only Youtuber Extraordinaire ... we've been friends for a long time and I did his wedding pictures.
So I took him offroading to do some engagement pictures.

Cool deal. I've seen his videos for years. I try to do a little video editing on the side for fun and just a little $ here and there. Pretty sweet how he started his career filming and traveling places. Loads and loads of work, but definitely a great way to see and experience a bunch.

So it's a brother of a friend... just kinda offered to do it. He's a fireman out of Vegas, i've stayed at his place a few times. I helped a bunch but he did the majority for sure.

He did a superb job, it's rock solid and a perfect fit for everything I have.

Great photos and sweet setup! I've been tossing around the idea of an airstream. They really are great campers, especially for a midsize truck like the Tacoma.

I did a photo project where i was on the road for a year... when i got back i decided to stay in it... it's been almost 4 years now.
This year i'm planning on staying up in the mountains around here more often.

Oh i should mention when I originally got the Airstream I was towing it with a Toyota Venza... the Tacoma is much better. haha
