Not sure who you talked to here but email me your address and I'll ship you some poly boots as replacements. MOOG doesn't offer replacement boots or even have a part number for just them. We're testing some other brands as well to find something higher quality than MOOG.

On a side note the MOOG boots can tear for a few different reasons ...

1. Weren't greased after installation and the boot got pinched internally on droop.
   
2. They were over-greased and too much volume of grease is in the joint. Some grease guns go up to 1300 psi. Fully assembled and at ride height we grease the ball-joint through the zerk fitting, then remove the zerk fitting to bleed of the pressure and excess grease. Then re-install zerk fitting.
   
3. Got nicked/torn during install
4. a quality issue from MOOG.

 

I'd be curious to know as well. I saw this Stanley one at Home Depot and figured I could make a tarp cover from a cheap HF tarp to make it dust/water resistant during travel. I have an action packer that is incredibly well organized and thought out but you still basically have to unpack the whole thing to set up the kitchen and repack it. Seems like this would be 1 step short of a chuck box (I made one and my complete lack of carpentry skills means it will see a fiery death soon).

Adulting. I imagine as soon as he gets free time, the first thing he'd do is head outdoors. Then check in with TW when he gets back.

 

He hasn't been outdoors in over a month....that's not like him I hope he is alright

 

I'm sure He's fine. Just tending to life as well all do sometimes. Should be back as soon as he's available.

 

He's good to go. Just busy with work and family stuff right now. It is all good in his world other than lack of time to get out and enjoy mother nature.

 

I am wanting to do this today; was wondering if you just pump fluid directly into the Return line and not open up the filler plug in the transmission to pump fluid into it from there instead?

I've searched this site for an hour and can't find this answer, so I thought I would ask you. Are the u-bolts in the All Pro U-Bolt flip kit long enough to accommodate the OME Dakar leaf pack with

D29XL + the 3* axel shim?

Nick may not see your question, he's been pretty busy. I have the same setup you are asking about, and the bolts were just fine. No worries.

Hey @Crom where did you get your poly bushings for your shackles. I am planing on doing some maintenance on the rear end next weekend and thought I would do that while I was back there.

 

He probably got them from wheelers if it isn't stated on the first page.

 

It was wheelers.. but if you need them soon, you might want to look elsewhere. Wheelers is waiting on bushings to come in, I ordered new leafs last week and they can't ship my order until the bearings come in. ARB has poly bushings too, might consider them if you're in a hurry to get them.

 

Actually the bushing he used in the upgraded rear shackles is from ES (mentioned on page #178). He didn't list a part number but it's a standard sized bushing that you can use in the leaf pack as well. There was somewhere that I remember Nick mentioning that he liked the Wheelers bushing more when comparing the two side by side, but I can't find it at the moment or remember why he liked one over the other.

 

I'm not sure if I'm miss reading this but the leaf eye bushing and the shackle-frame bushing are different. Wheelers uses an ES bushing, at least as one of their suppliers.

 

Hey thanks guys. I have been looking around the ES kit comes with leaf and shackle bushings. So I will probably go that route.

 

Any idea what a proper replacement for the shackle-frame bushing would be?

 

The only way I've found to get the ES shackle-frame bushing is this kit and specific bushing.
