I know nothing is listed here for Metberry but this is a good resource for trail openings.

Just went Saturday. Not sure if I know which "hill" you're referring to. Basically half the trail is a hill. Also couldn't tell you about fishing. I've never actually seen anybody in the river down there.

Maybe he meant coming back up the Rock slab with nobody up top to pull if he can't get traction.

Hmm well you may have to hit it right if you have open diffs, but locked I did fine even when I was stock.

Well I was just reading and people were talking about some steep tricky hill on the way out. But yeah thanks.

there's a climb at the bottom that can be loose. it's a long climb, but usually not too bad as long as you're not running on slicks...snow and ice covered would be a different story, but you'll be fine now

the slab is the other tricky section to get back up...if you stay right, you usually see the least amount of tire lift...going up and down, just keep an eye on your weight transfer of the truck. as you drop a tire, you don't want to be too sideways when the truck starts to lift.

Ran chinaman gulch on Saturday. With some friends. That trail is a beast for a tacoma on 32s and open diffs. Got the strap once cause I tried to play on the rock garden. Then attempted the v-notch and broke my passenger cv shaft. Made it out in 2wd

If you're on 35s it means you don't need armor right? Supercharged means you don't need a winch too.

I thought I was having a bad day Saturday until I got a call from my bro. He came out without a scratch thankfully. Never combine speed and narrow gravel roads.

I already have all that stuff so I should be golden. And within about a week I will be up and running on 456 gears. Just have to wait until the break-in period is over :frusty:

He just got the sliders from Adventure off road fabrication and he said they held up no damage to them or the bottom of doors and rocker panels. And he flipped 3 times.

Wheeler Lake Pike/South Park 719-836-2031 Mostly closed 5/13/17
    COMMENTS:
5/13/17 - Trail is blocked by snow within 1/2mi of trailhead. Some drifts are quite deep; I'd estimate it'll be about a month before they are passable by vehicle. Continuous snow begins at treeline.

    2004 thingy
I used to be a part of a group of guys that would open that trail. About 2001-2005 was the year range. The snow up there was hard on the top from many freeze/thaw events so you could drive a light Jeep or Toyota across the large drifts. I remember on of the 1st years a Truck fell through and the driver had to climb out the back window. We were digging and winching for 2 days after to free the truck. I don't know if I could squeeze out the back window of a mini truck these days. Middle of June was always the 1st run and most of the trucks were running 40s. I liked the 38x12.50s but my mini truck was sub 3klbs with a 4 cylinder.
