    works great until the hose breaks and cant get it out

    wont get the last bit of oil out either and some engines you cant get to the bottom of the pan from the dipstick tube

    I will roll over on the ground and remove that one bolt, enjoy a barely pop and put it back in.

    ...sometimes doing things the old fashioned way is best. Been doing my own oil changes for so long, I don't even have to think about what I'm doing. It's not much cheaper than taking it to an oil express shop, but at least I know it's done right.

    Like knottyrope said, I don't mind getting under the car and loosening one bolt. It gives me the chance to look around under the car and see what else is going on.

    Here is what I use. Its cheaper than the OP's pump and is even more important to lazyness as it is electric and does not even require a hand pump. In addition, by moving the tube around I can get out 99% of the old oil. As I live in a place where getting under the truck can be tough due to cold/snow this electric pump is further proof that lazyness is its own reward:

    Yeah that is much easier. But until they devise a way to get all the oil out and not leave a gooey layer of sediment after 10 years of use, I'll continue doing it the old-fashioned way.

    Besides, the last thing I need is another gizmo to find space for, I have little precious garage space as it is.

    only time id EVER use one of those is on a boat where you simply cant drain the pan from the bottom. But beyond that, especially on our trucks there is PLENTY of room to get underneath and do it the proper way.

    Looks like too much work pumping. Just use a fumoto valve and you can open it and walk away.
