I have a '96 Tacoma 4x4 ext-cab that the drivers side ball joints failed on the other day. I am currently making a parts list to rebuild it.

Years ago I had a factory rear leaf spring break and I replaced it with a set from Wheeler Off Road. It has always sat about 1-1.5" higher than stock in the rear with those springs. I have been on their site looking at OME options to lift the front a bit while I am rebuilding the front.

I have not ordered anything yet.

I am curious what you guys recommend to rebuild the front with the best parts that will last and give me a level ride?

It is a every day driver now, but I may buy a new one next year just leaving this one to trash duty/coyote hunting/calling duty.

Any info is greatly appreciated in advanced.

Funny, just the other day I saw a white Tacoma sitting at a stop sign on Dayotona Ave with a busted ass lower balljoint and a tow truck in route. Wasn't you was it? :anonymous:

I have got a ball joint failure issue as well. Its happened twice. Once on each side since I replaced shocks and springs in the front end. Any idea's as to why?
