Anyone have suggestions for trails in Moab that can be done in half a day? I'm heading down there May 18th and 19th and will have Thurs afternoon and Friday morning to kill by myself till some friends show up for mountain biking. I'll be camping east of town along Rt. 128n

I want to take my truck out for a couple 3-4 hr runs close(ish) to town. I'm thinking of doing Gemini Bridges and Fins and Things.

Now the caveat - I'll be by myself and haven't been out in the area all that much. I want some nice sights and maybe a few technical challenges to drive through but nothing that will get me in too much trouble. Any thoughts or if anyone else will be in that area those days to group up with that would be awesome!

Gemini is easy peasy, my wife could do most of it in her minivan. Fun to open it up and cruise through. Hell's Revenge is pretty great but you should have a spotter if you do it.

Those are the only 2 I've done. More info here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...th-my-stock-ish-trd-pro.460737/#post-13666618

I did 7 mile Rim last week and that was about what you are asking for. I think Easter Jeep Safari rated it a 4 this year.

Fins and things, eye of the whale backwards, both extremely beautiful, somewhat technical but not over the top. Both fairly close to town.

I'm looking to install my lift sometime this week and will need to get it aligned. I'll have new upper control arms (SPC). Does anyone know of a competent shop in the Salt Lake Valley that doesn't shy away from aligning lifted trucks?

I took it to Mark Miller after my lift. Honestly they're incompetent when trying to explain stuff (why's, how's, etc), but they got it spot on and weren't terribly priced. I've had lots of recommendations for the Alignment Guys in American Fork, but I personally didn't have a good experience with them on my Jeep. After the lift and their alignment I had bump steer, drifting, and all sorts of messed up stuff. Ended up having to take it into another shop.

Big-O in Sandy, they are the only place that would align my long travel and I went there on a tip from Midnight 4x4. Also the only place in Salt Lake that will mount beadlocks. One of the managers there is super, super knowledgeable. They're my new favorite spot.

Anyone go to the off-road expo this weekend? Wondering if it's worth running out to see before it closes at 7

+1 for Russ's Alignment. I haven't had him do lifted trucks but he's done great work aligning my other rides of the years, including my C3 'Vette with half new suspension & half beat-to-crap components other shops wouldn't touch.

Go to Russ's. You have to make an appointment but worth it! They do all my vehicles, including post lift on my Tacoma. Fair priced, they know what they are doing, you won't be sorry.

It's like 55.00$ or something. I got a 3 inch lift they did it no problem. They also removed my seesed cam bolts cam bolts for me. They were super stoked when I showed up with the parts before the job. They were booked out two weeks when I went called them.

    not enough.
    Hey Utah folks.
I was reading through some of the posts on 3rd gen tips/tricks and noticed the "low transmission fluid" posts. Anyone else see this issue before? If so, Any preference on dealer/service tech to go with? Do the dealers know about this issue or am I going to have to deal with the hassle of talking with them? Just want to know who would be a preferred dealer and what to expect when I meet with them.

My experience with the three dealers in the valley, in order of who I prefer to go back to, is:
1 Mark Miller downtown. Brian Payne the service manager is top notch and they do great work.
2 Larry H. Miller in Murray. Pretty good service.
99 Karl Malone in Draper. Too many negative experiences there.
