I have ran Warns and Smittybilt for years. I just bought a new Smittybilt X20-10K Gen 2 with synthetic rope for my current build. Smittybilt winches have made major changes through the years and will hang with the best of them. Also all GEN2 have a lifetime warranty and customer service is killer.

Well I just ordered a Superwinch Talon 9.5SR so we'll see how it is when it gets here. It won't get used very often but I wanted to have a descent winch for when I get my plate bumper this summer.

Edit- cancelled order...taking too long. Am looking at ComeUp options now.

Go with Warn. I have a VR-8s. Used 9-10 times, all legit. Awesome winch.

Mind sharing who you ordered it through? I'm also considering the same winch but only see the two places on Vancouver Island that carry them.

I ordered from Toytec and am having it shipped (free in the USA) to the Alberta/Montana border where I will pick it up.

Stock bumper? There are a few companies that have solutions depending on what you want. I went with a @RelentlessFab bumper and a Warn m8000s

Here's a pic in my build thread

Depending on the bumper but odds are if you don't have a mounting plate built into the bumper for the winch you are out of luck. You could do a winch on a receiver cradle for the rear of the truck
