Sounds crazy to me but I guess as far as first gens go, a 4x4 TRD double cab v6 is probably considered the most desirable overall. Still though, over $12k for a 13 year old truck with OVER a quarter million miles is insane lol. You could use that to put a solid down payment on a new TRD OR. Or get a first gen access cab with the same specs (and a manual trans, much more appealing IMO lol) with way less miles.

hmmm....NADA lists mine at $14.5k for clean retail and the only difference between mine and that double cab is that mine is an access cab manual trans lol. And I've only got 47k miles. Crazy.

I would of paid top dollar for an 02+ 1st gen, silver TRD 3.4L 4x4 manual with under 50k miles. I would of died to have one in high school. I looked and couldn't find a clean one, so I got a 3rd gen.

yeah when I found mine on Autotrader last year with 24k miles on it I nearly cried. Called the dealer that was 4 hours away that night at 8pm and told them I'd be there the next morning before they opened and I was. That bitch wasn't cheap though. She still isn't lol.

Your taco, with the blower and red color, etc., seems would be able fetch a pretty penny, even with what NADA shows. After almost a year of keeping an eye on prices of these, it appears safe to say that there really isn't a standard to the values. Folks routinely pay more than what the books show. It seems run of the mill, normal/higher mileage stuff stays closer to books suggested values. Even then, folks are paying more than that if they find the truck they really want.

Wait what? I put my truck in the "sell" and got like maybe 7-8k. Maybe I'll look at "buy" and see if there's a discrepancy.

Got mine for $10,900 with 146k ('01, TD, 4x4, 5spd)- but 86k of that was towed behind an RV - so only 60k on the engine and interior!! PLUS - it was asouthwest truck (AZ) and I live in VT - that's the real bonus.

yeah that's pretty much what Toyota told me when I tried negotiating on the price with them last year lol. They wanted to sell it it but they knew they could let me walk and someone else would be right in.

As far as the blower goes, I actually didn't want it at first and was going to have them remove it (I didn't know much about them at the time and thought it would be more of a pain than anything...I was actually kind of right as far as that goes lol). They initially agreed to remove it and return it to stock but after a week waiting on parts they said they "couldn't source" (not sure why, stock intake manifolds are everywhere on eBay) they ended up taking $1500 off their asking price for me to take it with the supercharger on.

I have a love/hate relationship with the blower, but that's for another thread haha.

Hahahaha! They lowered the selling price to 'encourage' you to take it with the supercharger?! Score!

Yup, lol. They had it written in the contract I signed initially that they agreed to return the motor to stock, but after a week of me driving around in a complimentary loaner while they waited on the parts to come (I'm still not entirely sure why they had such a difficult time with that), they called me and told me they'd knock $1,500 off if I'd take it with the blower.

I'm guessing maybe Toyota doesn't make/sell those stock manifold parts for the 3.4l anymore and there are liability issues for them to source used parts. Either way I'm happy I ended up with it, though I need to drop quite a bit of money into fuel mods to get it running right and not so lean when I step on the throttle.

I'm not picking on you, but when it comes to items that cost this much better pics sell stuff. Find a big open parking lot or dirt lot and compose good pictures.
