has anyone tried running 5100s and a spacer lift together? Bilstien said it wasn't recommended, but if just wondering if it'll lift the truck any higher with the spacer and also adjusting the shock. If anyone has, any troubles with it? Reason I ask is because I have a 3" spacer lift already, but my front end isn't quite as high as the rear (I have a 2"block in the back). I love the height of the back and don't want to lower it just to make the truck level

There is so much wrong with doing that I'm not even sure where to begin. o_O

Put a 1" block in the rear or get a drop bracket lift for the front. Those are your only two reasonable options.

I would just bring the suspension back to stock, and do a 3" body lift.

Well I've read that 5100 on lowest setting and a spacer are fine. I'm not wanting to crank it all the way up to 2.5 of lift with the spacer, but maybe if I have the shock on the 1 inch level I'll be fine?

No, a 3" lift spacer on top of a preloaded 5100 is NOT fine and I'd like to see where you read that?

I'm just going to list a couple of reasons why this idea is horrible.

A 4" lift leaves almost zero suspension down travel. This equals a total shit ride.

A ~1.5" thick spacer on top of a 5100 which is around ~5/8" longer than the oem shock means your shock assembly is over 2" longer than it was designed for. This means your suspension can drop significantly lower than its capable of safely handling. This also means the compressed length of your shock assembly will be ~1.5" longer which transforms your shock into a bump stop.

Pogostick time bomb. That's what it is. You've been warned.

Where I read about the spacer, it said a 1/2 inch spacer on the tallest setting was fine, so I just assumed a 3 inch spacer was fine on the lowest setting

A 1/2" spacer is as big as I'd be willing to gamble with. Anything larger is asking for problems ESPECIALLY if you off-road.

IIRC the 5100 has a slightly longer compressed length than the 4600 which means you have even less wiggle room before the shock becomes the bump stop.

The only way this would be "safe" would be to install a spacer on the bump stops AND install limit straps so your upper balljoints don't snap and/or hit the coils.

Your info says you have a Sport which I'm assuming is not 4x4. Why not just ditch the spacer and get a 4" spindle lift? It keeps the same geometry so you can keepy your stock shocks and coils. You can also upgrade them if you want to.

    Haha it's a 4x4. I don't think they make 2x4 trd sports

    Anyone seen my wallet?
They do. They even make 4x2 trd off roads. Do your truck right and put worthy suspension on it. You wont get much love on stacked lifts or spacers on TW. Reddit maybe...

They definitely don't make 2x4 TRD sports.

They do make 4x2 TRD sports though. Ask me how I know. :spy:

I have a 2wd TRD Sport. Around here the Sport 4x4's are far and few.

Well looks like you're going to have to lower the rear or keep that stance.

ATX Mojaves with 265/75 16 Hankook Dynapro ATMs, Spidertrax 1.25" spacers (front and rear), Bilstein 5100 all around up front set at 1.75", Blacked out badges, Pioneer AVIC D3 DVD/NAV Head Unit, K&N Air Filter, Tyger Tri Fold Tonneau Cover, Rockford Fosgate Punch Speakers.
Go with 5100s and OME coils, with 887's you can get almost 3 inches of lift in the front, go AAL or new leaf packs in the back. I just had 5100's, 884 coils (2" of lift), and a Deaver AAL installed (see truck in sig) my truck rides great now even though it needs an alignment.

Had 5100s on stock coils at 1.75 beforehand and it road like crap compared to now, maxing out 5100s and adding a spacer will ride like absolute garbage and wear out your shocks in no time. I don't really offload and wanted a lift but went with a true suspension lift (on a budget) to save on wear and tear and get the best ride possible.
