Definitely easy and functional first mod with the nerf steps. Welcome to TW OP :hattip:Now the first thing I did was install a 3" spacer/AAL lift...

Truck looks great! Post pics once you've done some upgrades... would like to see how you tricked it out.

Definitely use the links that the other guys gave you... very helpful.

I went 255/85r16 which is a super popular tall and skinny size. My suspension is completely stock and it only required very minimal cutting of the fender wells and removal of the front mudflaps. I get a little UCA rubbing at full lock but I will address that when I deal with suspension later this year. I ended up with about a 1" lift thanks to the tall tires....

    3" spacer? Wider stance?

None yet, but thinking about it
Beautiful truck! Have wanted a Tacoma for three years now, made the mistake of not buying a silver Off-road in 2015, thinking the 2016s would be better. With all the problems with the new gens seem to have, am trying to find a nice used 2014 or 2015. Most I've seen on lots look like they were put through the wringer. Congrats!

I see a lot of trucks without them so I don't really know how often it's enforced... but my truck is already a giant target, so I figured I'd follow the rules on this particular issue...

Based on that I'd say a good set of Michelin AT2 are a good mix. Great tire for all season use without getting heavy and ruining MPGs on the highway.

Cooper AT3 are another good choice.

Exact tire and size i have. 20 miles a day. But they are a heavy E load tire so they do kill mpgs. Plus that size is 33". Requires lift and trim (this is why Mac removed mud flaps).

I did mine without a lift and haven't had any issues. Little bit of UCA rub at full lock. Little trim, mudflap delete. I'll deal with suspension and lift next, but for now, stock is doing beautifully with these tires. MPG has gone down a little, but the tires are worth it, I think. I'm really pleased with them.

I have a spacer above my coilover/under my shock mount in the front. Like a little hockey puck  from TuffCountry. I do also have 1.25" spacers on all 4 wheels from Spidertrax. They give the truck more stance. The 3" spacer is for lifting the truck. Little better clearance if you ever decide to take it offroad

Factory lift kit. Lomax tri fold Tonneau.
Mudflaps come in handy in certain areas of Wi & Minn. Really help in keeping road kill, etc from spraying all over side of truck. No fun getting it off after it dries, Not to mention winter crud & travel on rural loose gravel roads. my 2cents
