    Hey all,
First post. I'm installing a Extang trifecta on my 2013 Tacoma and having some issues with the clamp straps interfering with brackets before they can tighten down. I've called the tech line at Extang and sent photos and an explanation of the problem. They have replaced the straps with a different style but still don't work. Anyone else have a problem with these? Am I just being stupid? I wanted just a simple install, now it looks like I'll be designing my own brackets at work on Monday. Here's a photo also. Thanks for any help IMG_1089.jpg

The t-handle unit where it slides in the channel should be slid as far to the outside as possible. This will allow just the outer most lip to catch the bracket.
The T-handle will point down but towards the middle of the truck bed.

These pics are a little different but should give an idea.

Thanks for the answer. I was trying to install them perpendicularly to the cover. Did you crank them down and did the front seal seal?

Yes the front sealed well. They crank down quite far.

wow! I am currently waiting for a credit from gatorcovers from a trifold I am returning to them because it fit horribly and the front clamp stripped out on installation (cheap plastic). The front of the gatorcover couldnt be tightened enough to seal the front corners and the "T" bar hit the rail bracket when tightening, even worse than your pic (mine had no spacer).

I was going to upgrade to the Extang trifecta but it looks like extang manufactures the gatorcovers (the return label they sent says extang) and based on this pic they use that same bracket.

Any bedcover recommendations? I really want a lightweight folder...

I just got a bakflip for the tundra. Seems to work alright. Ive never had anything to complain about with my extang though.

The bakflip looks awesome but I really want a soft cover & they took an additional 10% off the extang trifecta2.0 so i told them to just send that. Havent heard back tho. What a sh!tty company to deal with autoocustoms inc is. If i had customer service this bad id be outta business in a month.

I would put a wing nut on there if you stripped out the plastic.

I wish I found this post two weeks sooner. Tried the gator, but felt the same way about it not being tight enough to seal- could see the bed lights through certain spots in the cover at night (hinges/corners).

Then tried the extang. As soon as I opened it, I realized it was the same thing. The only difference is the clamp style on the tailgate side, but it still doesn't hold down fully. What did you end up going with?
