Don't remember if I've posted here on not, but here she is as of now.

Still rocking the stock 3.92's with 35's. Drives fine, steep hills it pulls ok in 3rd at 55mph and 2,900rpm. 4.88's will be installed soon with a rear Air Locker.

I'm at 20,000 and still feels like it breaking in. Engine is getting smoother, Manual Trans is loosing up finally.

I'm going to pose perhaps a strange question on here and for those of you who my know me you may not be suprised. First I have a 2013 ac/at 4wd when I went to thedaler to look at it (used0) it was sitting in a row of tacomas bothe trd's and sr5's like mine.. Mine was the only 4cyl and in the row of trucks it sat about 2" shorter than all the rest. This was noticeable to the point that before lifting I had several people tell me they were suprised it was 4wd they thought it was 2wd. Now with 2.5" lift in the front and actual 33's it's still short. If I park it next to another second gen with the same amount of lift and same size tires it's about 2" shorter. It rides, handles, and wheels great but I'm just curious about why it's shorter. Any ideas from you smart folks? As far as I know theres no real difference between a trd and an sr5 suspension except the shcksand strts. I really noticed it the other day when I parked next to a 3rd gen stock trd and they were the same height. Like I said I know this is strange but thought I'd throw it out there

I bought a 2014 Tacoma 4x4 2.7 base a couple months ago. I love the truck so far but there are a few things I want to change. I found TW and seems like a great place to get info.

First I need to figure out how to use a forum or thread. I'm very new to this. Might to find the nearest 10 yo to teach me a thing or two. The truck has 145k on it so I'm starting with service from top to bottom.

Smart start. Maybe go to a local dealer and see if they can pull any service records on it. That'll also tell you if any recalls have been done if there have been any. 1st if you want to say reply to my post click on the botton underneith the post that says quote. It'll bring up what I posted and give you space to respond. Then hit post reply and it will post your reply and send the person your quoting an alert saying they have been quoted so they may read and respond. best suggestion is to start clicking on some things and see what happens. You can also look under the search window. You can click on forums and look through them as well. Like if your 40-50 years old there is a thread for that I am usually in the 50+ thread good luck and have fun

Thanks a lot for the info. I'm 34.....I just never got into this stuff haha. Slow start. I bought my truck locally but it came from Florida. I looked it over as much as possible before I bought it. To be honest, I wasn't concerned about history as much as I should be with this purchase. I plan on running it for just about ever. When it's too ugly for the road, it can get tailored a little more towards the trail. I've been on this site all day building a practical list. Thanks again for the help.

964 pictures are little too much for me to go through. Think about how inspirational you could be by pulling parts off that awesome ride sending them my way. Love it. Good to see you use it.

Mat I'm looking at snorkels now and seeing none offered for 4cyl was there much modding to do to get it to work or did you actually find one for a 4 cyl

Can you give hub to fender mesurements? It would help comparing our ride with your. In front I sit at 22"3/4 and in the back I was 23"3/4 (saying was because I didn't check back since the shell install and tools), but it iseasier to compare with your ride. Honestly I've never notice a difference between stock 4cyl and stock 4.0. And also none between sr5 and trd. I am interested by your case.

Louis I have all the time in the world rt now to give you any measurement you'd like as I'm home recovering from surgery. I'm nt quite sure what we can do with measurements as the truck is lifted on 33's now which is part of what peaked my curiosity with lift and 33's and still only the same height as a stock trd 3rd gen? I know theyre taller but damn. I'm not exagerating either even the salesman had pointed out when I bought it that it was curious it was shorter than all the other trucks. This shuld be interesting I already asked a guy I knoe that's been a toyota tech for 43 years and he didn't have an answer

They all work the same actually they work better with the 4cyl cause the elbows fit directly into the air box just seal up the holes in the bottom of the box and you're gtg!!! I still love the airflow snorkel best
