Good to hear. The owner of Legget Gas Station was saying that it was probably going to open soon.

We are trying. starting Monday we are going to 12 hr shifts 7 days a week and night shifts as well. We are also going to Use a helicopter to air lift a Caterpillar D5K and an excavator to the top of the slide on 101 so we can work from the top down. We should have 101 open in 1-2 weeks.

Sounds like a more realistic open date. the local news outlets in Humboldt have been reporting "in the next day or two" for the past week

Edit, Kym Kemp says one way traffic on Monday night

I can't speak to how much snow would be on the FS roads but there's some hot spots off the Mcleoud River. I went fly fishing around there a few times but only with buddies who eat and sleep it so I don't don't if there is a river trout "season" or not, I'm not that bright. PM me if you want more details and I'll pull out my saved maps.

Ain't no fishing from what we saw but my wife and i were just up in Mendo a couple weeks ago and went and drove around the 409 road for a couple hours. It's signed and right off of hwy 1. After a couple miles the pavement stops and it turn into intersecting dirt roads. Nothing at all challenging but a nice little chance to drive around the woods for a bit and still be close to town. Pretty, lots of trees and no people.

Those are delicious. I've gone striper fishing with my parents in New Hampshire a bunch. They like to fight!

I'm pretty sure I know a sea trout when I see them. We used to fish for them along the rock wall by Oakland airport.

@BudMan you got me. I like to stir the wise ass pot when I get a little bourbon in me. I was just expanding on my first comment of me not having a high "fishing IQ". Not even my wife likes my humor. They are clearly sea catfish. No argument.

Yeah. That's part of my obviously shitty joke. My dad and I used to troll for stripers there all through my youth. Biggest bass I ever caught were along that wall.
