The Bullaculla 3 link SAS build (pic heavy)

No real progress with the SAS. Panhard bar and some brackets giving us a hard time. Gonna have to move things around a bit and make or buy some smaller brackets, as some of these are unnecessarily wide. Also to keep the ride height low, we need to put a couple bends in the panhard. So we are using a PVC pipe to mock up the bends then use it as a template.

But I got this in the mail the other day and wanted to say thanks to @bijick for a pleasant transaction. Thanks again bro. It looks great. Now I will be able to actuate the front locker if I ever get the truck back on the ground

Here is the situation.
This is full stuff.

I think I can cut off that little extension on the oil pan. It's just floating there and not touching anything. If I do that, then put a little more bend in the panhard, it should clear at full stuff.
It's either that, or limit my bump travel and have a higher ride height, or move my engine up a little bit

 

I would just shave that small piece, does that bolt come in contact?

 

I can't keep watching this thread it's making me want to do the sas even more. Already wheeling with an sas'd Tacoma doesn't help either tho lol

 

so I messed up. I had the axle stuffed as high as it could go, but the shock wasn't even in place on the drivers side it was actually past full stuff. The pvc panhard is fine now.
This is already too far,

But at this amount of stuff, I still have space on the panhard.

Fully flexed. Ignore all the crap under my junkpile...





Now just gotta fine tune the panhard bends and duplicate it in 1.5" DOM tubing

 

I still might cut it for extra room. If I put a little more angle on the bend, it will clear the bolt even tho it won't go that high anymore

All those expensive goodies, and your license plate is still held on by zip ties! You do have your priorities straight, though!

I see you got rid of the zip tied license plate. And, you used to tease me about my zip tied plate.

 

Shit, that was always zipped tied on there!
And I think safety or recon says that it needs a minium of 2 zip ties to hold it on. And I use zip ties cause its easy to cut off if I need to use the winch

 

I bolted mine on since the safety check guy said that I needed to. The recon guy said it was okay.

 

man, those BHLM just don't match without the zip tied plate tho. how's about we trade my stock headlights for yours

 

you still haven't baked them? Its pretty easy.

 

no. I'm too chickenshit to screw it up and end up with zero headlights.

 

It's always a compromise with these things The two top contenders are ride height vs everything else lol

But as we were talking about, no need to have a low rider. Haters gonna hate anyway. This trend of everybody and their cousin wanting to do a SAS on 37"s with a total frame height of 23" is ridiculous
