Very common mounting location. I had one in pretty much the same place on my '93 for about 5 years.

How do you not have ABS on your truck? My mind is getting blown right now... I thought all these trucks came with ABS

All trucks have ABS. Apparently some have some portion of the system on the passenger side of the engine bay. At least that's what I've heard. @StreetTiresJay is saying that trucks without ABS units on the passenger side have room for the compressor in that location.

I'm "one of those" owners.... I should probably pop my hood and jab a stick in there somewhere. I want onboard air but I was also recently laid off... So looks like I'll be waiting a bit for toys

I've ran an ARB in my Jeep for the last 3 years with 1 issue. The compressor gets really hot just running with a load on it, let alone sitting in the engine bay. Almost scary hot, but it's only blown a fuse once. I keep spares so no big deal. I do air down to 13 with my Trail grapplers and air all 4 up to 27. They're 35's so I've worked that compressor pretty good. It's a nice little unit so it can take some heat for sure.

Nice job, OP. I just picked up my 2016 MT yesterday and have had the ARB compressor sitting around waiting for the truck's arrival. Since I know squat about welding, if you ever happen to come upon a ready-made mount, please let us know. Send more picks when you get it wired up.

if its like the 2nd gens, all TRD OR have the abs portion integrated with the master cylinder. The TRD Sports, dont have that master cylinder and have the ABS block over on passenger side. Basically, if u have atrac u dont have the abs block but still have ABS and if u dont have atrac, u get the ABS block on passenger side

*edit, i have a 2006 TRD OR but dont have atrac so i do have an OR with the ABS block over on passenger side

I welded up a little plate to hold the compressor that fits over the three unused studs between the fender and firewall on the passenger side.

The ARB folks are the experts at On Board Air. I've had mine mounted for 3+ years without any problem.
