See my signature if the other posts about it you found via the Search function in this thread and others didn't answer your question.

Read up on the Magnuson-Moss Warranty act that @RIDERED67 referenced.

Vehicle warranties are not monolithic things that only exist or don't exist. In a nutshell, during the warranty period a dealer may refuse to provide warranty repairs on something if they believe you or a third-party product caused the failure. Generally speaking, if you have a remote start installed and your axle falls apart they're not going to say anything. If you truck won't start, then yes, they'll probably need you to remove the remote start module and show that the problem exists without it.

Given that making some smart choices in where you solder in your connections will largely hide them, and that removing two connectors takes the DBALL2 out of the circuit, it's pretty easy to back out the install and make it fairly non-obvious.

If it doesn't work it'll likely be the installer... :) This definitely works on '17 PTS trucks.

This along with smart start is probably my favorite mod, speaking of which, you guys should offer remote start package, I'm sure there's market for it too

I have this unit installed in my 2016 Tacoma. The range to start is terrible, and shutting off when you open the door is a waste of a start and makes no sense what so ever. Is there anyway to change this so the truck stays running?

All of this has been discussed in this thread, but.....

The range is as good as the factory fob.

There is no way to keep it running after you open the door. You will always have to restart it.

This is the only unit I have ever heard of that works this way. Everybody else I know with a key fob that has a remote start, will remain running until the step on the brake. Or they just push the start button and it stays running. The dealer charged $500 for this, and now I have to pay them to remove it, so I can get a remote start that works normal.

All Toyotas with push-button start operate this way. Not just the Tacoma. Also pretty sure the Lexus PTS is the same way. AFAIK, there is no option that allows take-over so no point in having it removed.

*ALL* remote starts for PTS 2016+ Tacomas work this way. A good number of keyed ignition vehicles with remote starts in other brands do allow for takeover (don't shut down), but they also have keys not push to start. There are some brands which allow takeover with their push to start vehicles, but that wouldn't be Toyota (to the best of my knowledge).

Good luck. I recommend you learn the landscape before you waste that money removing something for which you will not find a more suitable replacement.

Im thinking of getting this for my wife's bday. She is a penguin and would love to have the truck's AC given a head-start in cooling the truck. Looks like a great product!

Apparently they like to vacation in Arizona...

A vacationing penguin is driving his car through Arizona when he notices that the oil pressure light is on. He gets out to look and sees oil dripping out of the motor. He drives to the nearest town and stops at the first gas station.

After dropping the car off, the penguin goes for a walk around town. He sees an ice-cream shop and, being a penguin in Arizona, decides that something cold would really hit the spot. He gets a big dish of ice cream and sits down to eat. Having no hands he makes a real mess trying to eat with his flippers. After finishing his ice cream, he goes back to the gas station and asks the mechanic if he's found the problem. The mechanic looks up and says "It looks like you blew a seal."

"No no," the penguin replies, "it's just ice cream."

That's a solid price, sub'd. Beats the 500 buck factory option!
