    Does anyone's awning get water in it when its folded up and zipped up in the cover? Mine is wet inside every time it rains. I have a cvt awning.

    I have looked and then looked some more, even patched a spot I thought could be the problem which led me to think its coming in through the zipper. That is why I thought some one might know more than I do about this. Get off this thread if you don't have anything better to do than be a dick.

    Hmmm... I have been through a couple of rain storms but didnt see any water or anything in my CVT awning... i wonder if the part where the vinyl cover meets the aluminum mounting bar has come loose or something. It feels pretty water tight on mine... its also only 2-3 weeks old. Is your zipper on the bottom or the top? Mine is on the bottom, fyi

    I'd rather have opinions from the internet, I rarely buy anything without reading multiple reviews first. Nothing worse than buying a shit product, you should know that after buying the Yakima tent

    The zipper is on the bottom as well. Im getting tired of opening it up after a heavy rain to dry every time. :frusty:

    The other thing i was thinking was to just pour some water over the awning cover. You may be able to pinpoint the exact spot then and patch

    Well not sure what happened on the last page but no worries....I've seen the Yakima in person twice now. I can't see any of the Tepui models in person because there's no dealer in my area. Otherwise I'd "get off the internet" and check them out for sure. I'm not an idiot. Either way, the Yakima seems like a nice tent but I agree with Adam, comparing it and the Tepui Kukenam Ruggedized seems a little odd because one is entry level and the other is one of the best models out there. However, when you consider the Tepui is nearly twice the cost of the Yakima you have to start thinking, "huh, I could literally rock the yakima for a few years and then buy another new one..." That's the way I think.

    And someone earlier in the thread stated local customer service being a factor. That's my EXACT thinking. Ordering online is great for convenience factor but if I have to return it I'm going to get raped on shipping charges. Certainly something to consider.

    Thanks for all the help everyone. I think I know what I'm going to do.

    I have 3 REIs near me and none of them stock Tepui on the floor. I checked. Kinda blows.

    @ItalynStylion @inv3ctiv3

    I got some sleep, looked over what I wrote, my comment was a "dick" move. I'm actually a chill dood and have had lots of help from the Tacoma world forums so what I said was uncalled for. Apologies!

    @ItalynStylion, if you have an REI, buy the Tepui from them and try it out a few nights. If you don't like it, the return is free. I say buy the Yakima as well and do the same through REI. Hope you are happy with your future buy.

    If a Tepui has to be returned for a warranty issue, most of the time the customer doesn't need to worry about shipping charges.

    "the poor man always pays twice" and "Buy once cry once" have certainly proven to be accurate in my experience. A few times I've learned the lesson the hard way by trying to go cheap with a lesser product. That's not to say that the most expensive is always the right choice. But paying more for quality is definitely worth it IMO.
