Something sounds fishy, may there be something on your truck that me not be most legal? Such as a weasel powered roots super charger

I like the innovation, but I gotta tell ya that I had a seriously heavy duty magmount with a hinge so I could fold it down. Even so driving through the woods you hang up your antenna and all of the sudden you are off the air and dragging your antennae.

You are smarter than me though since I did have mine on the roof. I was happily driving through URE and suddenly it sounded like we had we had been shot by a gun. Turned out it was my antenna taking a trip off the side of my roof , whaking the passenger window and denting my door. Scared the crap out of Dragon's Lady!

Just had the Kia's inspection done.
Watched as the tech walked to the back, felt the exhaust and waved it in his face like checking a wine bouquet. Thought he was nuts but maybe that's the fishy inspection?

I wish, I'm just used to doing it every 2 years and seeing as my tags expire as soon as I get there I figure why not ask the natives

I have an elaborate series of zip ties planned, because I've had that same thing happen in tight woods before. Really thought I'd broke something, nope just the stupid antenna.

Yes, depending in which county you live, but most counties around Raleigh (Wake County) yes.

if your check engine light cycles with key on and does go out and there are communication on the OBD2, all lights work, blah blah blah, you'll likely pass.

your first registration will be the most expensive, you get to pay sales tax on your junk (again, once) and property tax (yearly with registration) AFTER you've paid $30 for your emissions and safety inspection (yearly before you get to renew).

WHERE you have inspection done can likely effect the outcome (you're fresh meat) where you end up living will play into this ( who knows who where )

cupping the tail pipe to check for leaks in the exhaust, the back pressure will HISS out any leaking areas of concern ( not always seen on visual when under vehicle)

Smelling it, well that may be his kink....

All things go well we will be in leasburg just outside roxboro. I figured I would get the noob tax and bend over but that is much better than not being able to drive the taco

the "property tax value" is based on average for age and miles, unless you have bill of sale (private purchase). When i bought my PreRunner bill of sale stated about 25% of assessed value. Cheap registration the first time, the next registration i got socked with assessed value, WOW !

wont be such a surprise this year, but still not cheap, about $95 this year (plus weighted tag cost of another $95) regular tag cost is less. every county is different
