I often spend weeks at a time out in the sticks. Hunting, camping, scouting for hunting, fishing far off lakes, etc. In some very crappy weather oftentimes.

Over the years and prior to heading out, I've settled on throwing on a set of Cabelas slip over seat covers, all weather matts, and under the matts, I had a waterproof linen type painting tarp I cut in half, and would tuck in under the center console / hump lip, and would pull the door sill plastic trim and tuck it under there. Clipped up to the top of the side kick panels as well. That pretty much kept the truck carpet and seats fairly clean after a week or two of constantly muddy boots and melting snow in and out of the truck.

Any tricks you've picked up to protect interior?

I have been considering the linen backed tarp thing again for the new truck, and marking / cutting to get a good fit, and then taking them into get sewn up. But, being around construction quite a bit, I recently had a thought. What about a couple layers of "carpet mask" under the all weather matts, up to he center console area, and back out to the door sill. Should make for a virtually waterproof / mudproof protection that can be pulled out and tossed in the can after a long trip for basically pennies. A roll would last a long time.

But, curious again....any interior protection tips for serious in and out of truck covered in dirt and mud type of off roading? Picking the new truck up Saturday, and it shouldn't be long before I have it in the pinons and junipers earning it's first "Arizona pinstriping" (the first ones hurt the worst!). But would love to keep the interior in the best shape possible.

I keep "damp rid" in my truck.

I've gotten into a lazy habit with this truck of cleaning instead of preventing after hunting and fishing. I don't recommend it.
