That roof is going to be very sturdy! I like this house's design and construction execution; keep up the good work @OZ-T and company! Quick question do you know the $ per sq/ft to build this very nice home is going to end up being?

both are a drive for me, but usually our local hardware places dont have quality wood or 9 out of 10 times the right hardware I need for a project. I acutally managed to make it through HD yesterday without buying anything...I was off my game and really wasnt thinking so I just went with a friend to pick up a few things he needed for his bathroom.
Thats prob the first air powered caulk gun Ive seen! Looks like it would work great though!

Building a shed. T1-11 plywood siding

Struggling to determine the 6"-8"-12" OC measurement. My house is built in the 70s and i believe has probably 3-4" OC. Eventually ill replace it with something wider. 6" is the best deal.... any actual things to consider other than appearance?

Im lucky in the fact I have lowes, a full lumber yard, and two other hardware stores all within like 5-10 miles of me. The lumber yard is mostly construction type stuff but they can get anything I'd want and do free shipping when its a larger order (all my shed stuff was delivered free). The closest hardware store is a nice lumber yard/hardware store but lacks anything to fancy. But for nuts/bolts plus the basic construction type stuff they are awesome. Plus their lumber yard is all drive through so you pay in the store and just drive right up to what you need then a guy helps load it up for you. The last is just an Ace Hardware.

They make battery powered ones too. We had two battery powered ones at work for awhile but people wouldn't take care of them so the projects said screw it and only buy the standard ones now.

I believe he's referring to the separation of the "seams" on the T111 siding.

I've never done this type of roof, why 3 nails per board in the T&G?

The roof decking is a shear diaphragm and is part of the seismic restraint of the building , thats what the structural engineered called for to connect the decking to the glulam rafters

There is actually 4 nails , one through the tongue and 3 through the top

Had a neighbor lady come up to my fiancé after I left for the gym and introduce herself. We have a line of old hemlocks at the back end of our yard (1acre) and apparently the branches are overhanging onto her yard. Now she's saying she's having a tree company come and trim them back because she doesn't like branches (i.e. Twigs and needles) falling into her yard. Also she liked to complain about my 24x48 pole barn in the back corner of my property because it blocks her "view." We bought the house in September as a foreclosure and I'm trying to build it back up from neglect. She thought the barn was going to get torn down for some reason.

She doesn't live at her house apparently and only stops in once a week to check up on it.

I guess my rant is what should I tell her regarding the tree trimming?

    Pic for reference:

Unless there is some different laws there , generally any branches hanging over your property line are fair game for trimming

Yeah , I live in the highest seismic zone in Canada , it's pretty much a fact of life in building here

I wonder if the nailing specs would be the same with twice as many rafters?

Yea from what I'm reading (Maryland) they can trim them back up until the property line. I went back their and tried to see if anything was noticeably dead or if anything was in her yard and I didn't really see what she's fussing about. Either way I'll try to talk to the tree company when thy come so they don't trim back everything and only selectively cut what they need to. I'd rather not lose the privacy the evergreens give me haha.

Also she told my fiancé she wants us to not put anything behind our barn so she doesn't have to look at it.

We split strategies today , finished the roof plywood to above the skylights and then went back and installed the peel and stick over the dry plywood because we have rain tonight and then sun again tomorrow and we will be able to finish both the skylight curbs / plywood as well as the rest of the peel and stick and we will be water tight

    Finally had the skylights uncovered

and the peel & stick down
