Just an FYI I am an automatic and live in an area with a lot of hills. So the 4.56 kinda suck for me. May be different for you depending on your area.

Interested in 4.88 and a rear locker.

Running a v6 manual TRD sport, currently on 33s but plan to go to 35s. Open to suggestions for sure, but based on research 4.88 seems like the way to go for me. If anyone has thoughts I'd be grateful.

Depends a bit on finances when this goes down, but if the deal is good enough I won't pass it up.

I'll add you. 4.88s sound like a good call.

I'm interested, you can throw me down as a mebbe. I'm curious to see what pricing looks like and I still haven't made up my mind as to whether 4.56 or 4.88s are the ticket for me.

Bingo. Also I'm in for front and rear locker.
Perfect. Tons of hills for me too. Currently keeping it 4 and sometimes 3rd gear to keep the tranny happy.

For those thinking they need more gears than they need..

    33" Cooper ST Maxx 255's (59lbs each)
RCI Steel Skids (IFS, Trans, Mid, Fuel Tank, Rear Diff)
    Pelfreybilt Bumpers Front & Rear
    Sliders

    Running 4.56 Gears. 75mph = 2,600-2,700 RPM. About 13-14MPGs.

Yeah ill start asking vendors to see what i can get. Seems there is enough interest to get a small GB together.

    yes. Auto tranny.

And he has full 4xinoavtion skids including gas skid. Demello front bumper and winch. Brute force rear bumper with swing out. Bed rack and a huge RTT. Dbl cab LB. Sucker weighs 6000lbs or so with no camp gear. haha

And you much have a manual?

My dad has 295s now and runs 2200ish doing 70 and get 15mpg. Plus boosted..

Either way it'll be a huge increase over 3.73s...lol

How do you like that setup? Regardless of RPM and MPG do you like the gearing? MT or AT?

Are you running a steel front bumper w/ or without winch? My Dilemma is adding it now as I will be adding steel f/r all steel skids as you are. And at a later point I may move up to a 35 (at this point its TBD). Truck already feels strained without that and 285's. Eventually I will have a similar setup with additional racks on the cab and shell. Sliders, (BAMF) skids will be on soon and plan to do have swing out rear as well along with a front bumper.

oh yah either way will be a huge boost. The stock gearing is dreadful at times right now and I have not even added all the steel. it will be one heavy SOB similar to the one you posted. Most people tell me 4.88 since I have the Auto which is where my dilemma comes from. also the want vs need of running 35's is another item.

Such a mix on whether 4.88's or 4.56 for autos. Some have 4.56 and seem over geared and some have 4.88's and they say it's just right. Regardless, just happy to save some mulla. Would be cool if ecgs could do it!

I'll askt hem first as they have had good success with doing in in the past.

Though they don't usually do GB on assembled thirds.

If we could get a killer deal I'd go with 488s and lockers front and rear for my 13. These 35s are thirsty

Back when I found a calculator made for figuring it out... the 4.10 gears would put 33s close to factory. 4.56 would put 35s close. 4.88 was for 37+.

I went 4.56 on 33s because of all the weight I have and the desire to do 35 some day.

ECGS: The owner there is a stand up guy who will take care of his customers. I know by experience. If they'll do your group buy I'd recommend!

I agree with the last statement.

I wish I saw this sooner, I literally just got back from driving to ECGS and back for install of 4.56s. I still have 200 miles to break in the gears. I have nothing bad to say about ECGS!
